These plates are just the right size for salads, snacks and desserts. They are lightweight and low profile. They don't take up much space in the cabinet and fit nicely in the dishwasher. They are also pretty durable; I don't remember ever breaking any. I use these every day, and gave some to my son as he moved into his first apartment.
