It's hard to decribe the taste.
3rdGen•February 15, 2018
It's hard to describe the taste. It definitely contains some type of pepper because you can taste it. Is it mild? Not really. I'd say that it's "medium" to "low-medium" as far as the peppery taste is concerned. A friend of mine suggested that I use this on baked fish. He was right. It's delicious on fish, and I'm sure it would be great on other dishes, which I have not tried yet

We have eaten regularly at a local fish restaurant and always enjoyed their blackened grouper. They were kind enough to tell us what kind of seasoning they used and that's why we ordered Magic Seasoning, Blackened Redfish Magic. Sorry restaurant, we can now cook fish with the same results with this product from Chef Paul and have also used it on chicken breast. We bought the large size as you get more value for your money. Getting ready now to season red snapper for tonight's grilled meal!
Great on salmon!

Use on Salmon--not too salty and not to spicy hot either!
I do it in the oven--SO much better!
Coat the salmon in the spice blend. Place a couple of pats of butter in a non-stick skillet and heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Set the coated salmon on top of the butter. Place another couple of pats of butter on top of the filet. Bake 15-20 mins depending
on the thickness of the filet. Serve with lemon wedges.
I hate salmon more than anything and this seasoning with a thorough dousing of lemon juice kills enough of the nasty "fishy" taste that I can choke the wretched crap down as I am required to eat it for medical reasons. No smoke--just flavor.

I like it!

Of all the blackening seasonings I've tried so far, this one is my favorite. Taste is subjective, of course, but I feel like this is a higher quality blend compared to most of its competitors. Unlike some of the others I tried (such as the Zatarian's seasoning, which was also excellent) this one has a coarser texture that lends itself especially well to high heat cooking. The only (potential) drawback is that it's a bit heavy salt, but I happen to like salt so I actually appreciate its saltiness! All and all I would definitely recommend this for making blackened seafood and although I haven't tried it to blacken poultry, I assume it would work well for that as well.

This seasoning is very lackluster and does not have any real kick to it. Try the Magic Salmon Seasoning instead, if looking for something to use on fish. We are still looking for something to use on beef or poultry.
