Worked to put our bed back together when we lost the pieces in our cross country move.
Great retro to lower an old tall wood bed frame
Jackie Randall•May 10, 2017
Great for changing up an old bed frame and providing a nice tight fitting with the head and foot board. I had to lower the bed and did so by dropping the box spring down so that the top of it was level with the running board rails. This caused a problem with tucking in sheets because the metal frame around the box spring was 1/4" away from the rails. Using these hook-plates on the inside made the running boards go out 5/8" on both sides giving about 1" of space. It worked perfect and looks fine. I used a long bar clamp to hold the foot board and head board in place with the rials in the position I wanted. The raisl where installed 1.5" lower then original height as well. I then inserted the hooks all the way. Keeping the exact angle I raised the hooks 3/16" from the bottom and then added the screws. This resulted enough movement to allow the rails to squeeze tight when adding the weight of the bed. I also used a Kreg tool and added two pocket screws near the top of each rail end while the runner was under pressure. Absolutely no wobble what-so-ever!!
Just what we needed

...to attach an older headboard to our bed rails. We had to screw the plates and the rails onto either side of a 1/2" block of wood because the frame was an inch narrower than the slots on the headboard, but that is not a product defect.
I was very pleased to find these on Amazon

I was very pleased to find these on Amazon, and at a really good price. I was able to use these to create Twin length Side Rails for my Queen/Full Bed which had side rails but too long for a full size mattress Like 8 " to long. So using these and some side rails I had lying around I was able to fix my bed. They are of a heavy construction and great quality. Thank You
