If you bake on parchment paper a lot, buy yourself one of these and use it instead. I bake "hearth-style" bread about once a week and am using it mainly for that, but I've seen these used for other baked goods like meatballs, cookies, home fries - just about anything baked. Make sure your pan you want it for is the correct size; this one is for a half-sheet pan. It comes in multiple other sizes.

I gave this to my dad as a gift; he bakes bread as a hobby. He swears by these! He uses the bread SilPat, and the other varities for other baking projects. They are expensive, but last forever. Amazon has a much better price than any other store on these.

I used this for baking bread and it helped bake the bread evenly without drying it out. Please note that I used this Silpat for Bread mat with a perforated metal baking sheet. It is nonstick and easy to clean. Once you have purchased this, you can say goodbye to parchment paper. I recommend this product to someone who wants to bake bread and other pastries.
