Tough, tons of traction, great if you're tired of your Turf Savers

I purchased these to replace the 20x8-8 Turf Saver OE tires that were on my riding mower. I was unable to get up small hills and frequently would spin one tire while making turns. Within one year I had to plug 4 punctures in the sidewalls of the OE tires.
Installation was easy with 2 steel tire levers and inflation was also quite easy with a ratchet strap and a bike pump. I noticed that one tire shipped with a gouge near the bead, and the metal cord was visible if I peeled it back, but it still mounted up without trouble. If I have issues down the road with this, I'll update here.
As far as performance, I'm excited to mow the yard again. Hills are no trouble and slippage is no longer an issue. Tight turns tend to rough up the grass slightly, but it always looks good enough for me. My yard isn't a showstopper anyway, it's better that the mower can get 100% coverage across the lot now. The sidewalls are definitely tougher than the "Turd Surfers" as well. Overall I'm very satisfied with this set of tires.

My son loves them!

We put these on my sons (yes sons) Husqvarna LTH 120.
Tire specs for the LTH 120 are standard 18x8.5x8.
These fit beautifully! He got a nail in his turf tires and they were getting pretty bare anyways. These work with his "my monster truck tractor" mindset. They were an absolute pain to mount but I got them on. Only to realize I had one on backwards so I had to dismount and remount. My back is killing me but it's done and they look so awesome.
The clearance is perfect! I wish they made them in the right front tire size but that's okay!
Thank you!!!

i actually finished that hay field of a hill in less time than normal because of the superior traction! Mowing the hilly terrain

I should have bought these 10 years ago. Wow. What a difference mowing hills compared to the Turf-guard tires my mower came with. I have a hill in my back yard with a 30 degree slope that covers about 1/3 of an acre. I used to have to wait until it was especially dry to mow, or i would slip everywhere and destroy as much turf as grass i mowed. Climbing the hill was impossible with those tires. Well, we had a wet summer where the hill never did dry out enough to mow this year. I had grass that was about 4' tall. I was afraid i would have to get out the weedeater for the hill, but decided to try these tires first. Not only was I able to mow 4' high grass on a damp 30 degree slope, i actually finished that hay field of a hill in less time than normal because of the superior traction! Mowing the hilly terrain in my yard is almost fun now and not near the chore that it used to be. I am so happy i can effortlessly mow that hill with the rest of the yard now. Five stars are not enough.
best upgrade for a low price rider

This is a great tire. We live on a 30 degree incline and have a craftsmen rider. I've rolled the mower and have been in a position where I couldn't get traction to go up the hill on a hot, dry day. We bought 2 of these and I had les schwab tube them, mount them and fill them with ballast. The ballast gave each tire 50 pounds of weight. each.we all know how light these mowers are and any kind of side to side action and a tire spins out. This does not happen anymore. I then added ballast to the front and everything is squared away and I'm mowing inclines that would normally be mowed with $15,000 remote controlled zero turn mowers on tracks. And no, they don't tear up the yard as long as your not tracking through there when the ground is soaking wet.
Great tires.. Good price..

The factory turf saver tires that my new yard tractor came with were no match for the steep inclines in my backyard, the tires just spun in place and laughed at me as as tried multiple times to go up at different angles with no luck. I searched online to find a solution to this problem and saw a lot of people replacing their turf savers with AG tires. So off I went to my local TSC and they had 2 of them in stock, but they charged a hundred bucks each. That seemed high for such small tires, so I checked Amazon on my phone and found the same exact tire much cheaper, so I left the store and ordered them from the parking lot. They arrived quickly (prime 2 day) along with some new rims (I didn't want to scratch up the almost new factory wheels).
After fighting with it for quite a while with different tools/methods, I managed to get the first tire on the rim using a pry bar and a couple of bar clamps. After getting the hang of it with the first one the second tire went on much easier. Since the tires are 2" wider than the factory 20x8x8 tires, the bead pretty much set itself. I also used STEELMAN G10106 Tire Rim Bead Sealer - 1 Quart before inflating and it worked quite well (good insurance against bead leakage, but it isn't required).
The tires cleared the fenders and frame with room to spare; They do clear the mower deck on my machine, but only by about 1/8" so that might be an issue for some. After getting these puppies on I immediately tried them out on the hills and though I expected to still get some slippage they went right up the hills no problem, and I can actually brake while going down a hill (bonus!). There are a few spots of loose dirt where my dog likes to dig up and while trying to go up those areas the tires would spin and dig a deep hole in the dirt, but even those areas were still climbable with a little speed first. I have mowed the yard several times now (including when the grass was not fully dry) and these tires have worked great. They do leave tire tracks in some of the bare spots, but they were fine on the healthy lawn, no tearing or ripping up grass.
All in all I am very happy with these tires, and the price was good. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a hilly yard and is experiencing traction problems with their turf savers. Sorry for the long review, I hope this was helpful.
