Boy, what a mess! They don't even put them in a plastic bag inside the box. There was crumbled millet spray all over the shipping box and other item and the inside of the millet box was a mess, I won't be buying this brand again. The F. Brown millet comes in a bag inside the box, I'll keep buying that brand.

If you compare the Golden Farms millet sprays to what you would normally find in small packages at your local pet store, then they are probably bigger and you'd get more for your money. But in comparison to Nemeth Farms, they just don't measure up. My package of Golden Farms Spray Millet was very dry and broke apart and shed very easily. I greatly prefer Nemeth Farms as the millet sprays are bigger, are more dense, and seem much fresher. I buy millet sprays for my group of 15 Society Finches, and they quite literally tear up the Golden Farms sprays and throw large chunks around the cage, and end up not eating it. But they work harder and longer on the Nemeth farms sprays which stay in tact and are less messy and which provides better foraging activity for them. They love it!

Our cockatiels and parakeets love millet and this did not disappoint them. The stalks are full and appears fresh as some of the seeds fell onto the wet newspaper on the bottom of the cage and sprouted! We will be buying again.

Have never ordered millet like this before - always purchased 2lb bags from the local pet store. Thought I'd try the 5pound box .. was good - nice golden millet .. sprays were intact. Yes, there are loose seeds but - it's shipped from the farm to the distributor and then it was shipped to me so .. there's bound to be loose seeds. Satisfied and I'll be ordering again .. thanks!

UPDATE 7/2017 - This is still the best millet around. It gets a little messy at times because the lose seeds leak out of the box - but I just wrote to the manufacturer ([email protected]) and asked if they would seal the box better (top/bottom/sides) and/or put the sprays in a plastic bag.

Some folks have mentioned small/thin sprays - that has happened to me but it's very rare - and when it has happened I've gotten more sprays - it's sold by weight so you get less sprays when they're big and thick, and more sprays when they're small/thin. The birds really don't care what the millet looks like - we care but not the birds. They just want their millet and are happy to get it any way it comes! For storage I use a pet/dog food storage container a little bigger than the box - put a garbage bag in it - and transfer all the sprays to that. Works great. Have been buying now for a few years and it's still the best around.

Really really poor product. Arrived upside down inside the Amazon box and was in pieces and crumbles. It's also old. I've used this brand before from other sellers many times and it was always fresher and larger. So basically I've got a giant box of mess and twigs since most of the seed has fallen off due to being such poor quality. It's so incredibly dried up and gross my birds can't even get anything out of it. It's a hot stale mess! So much so that I think I will ask for my money back. It's so dry and so stale that if I were to ship it back It would be dust by the time it got there.
