My PC A/V experience is out of this world now!

I am no audiophile, but I wanted a nice set of desktop speakers instead of the 10 year old freebies that I got with a PC purchase. I took the plunge by ordering these and a DAC from Schiit Audio (Modi 2). I set them up above my desk using these speaker mounts from VideoSecu (https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Clamping-Bookshelf-Surrounding-MS56B/dp/B000X9O8SI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1505347203&sr=1-1&keywords=MS56B+3LH). This completes my computer setup in my bedroom, which doubles as my entertainment center. Since installing them, I have enjoyed a great improvement in my experience watching movies and listening to music across the room. The soundstage is quite a step up from the junk I had in the past, and the clarity is impressive. I'm happy with my purchase
Good PC Speakers

These speakers sound good and work fine for a year and a half so far. Two weeks ago the volume level mechanism no longer work causes me to unable to change the volume level using the volume knob itself or the remote control. I contacted the seller "GRAMOPHONE" about warranty information. They ignored my message. So I contacted AudioEngine directly and they provided me a solution.
Four stars instead of five because these speakers are somewhat pricey, the sound quality barely match its price, and combining volume and power control together into a single button is a huge design flaw. Half of the time when I press the button to turn the speakers off the button turns clockwise or counter-clockwise one click. The speakers detect this as two actions: Turn off, then turn on. So the speakers remain on until I carefully press the button again without making it swivel in any direction.

Ok let's start by saying I have owned quite a few speakers.
Now I am no expert or went to school or have some kind of degree that says I am more qualified than you.
But let's keep this short and sweet.
Tight sound. AND solid bass for the stand alone without a subwoofer.
Nails every mark for me with great highs lows and mid sound.
Almost all music I played through these sounded on point and pops out at you!
If you are wondering if the price is worth it as far as sound goes these are some of the best speakers of this size I have ever owned.

While quality headphones are great, i missed speakers

When i moved, i had damaged my Klipsch 2.1 desktop speaker set, and had been using headphones with a DAC/amp for quite a while. While quality headphones are great, i missed speakers. I also didn't want to bug my neighbors downstairs with booming bass from a big sub, and these fit the bill perfectly. They still have some decent bass but nothing thats going to shake your walls (or floors). They get stupid loud and stay clear. Even on crappy media sources you will hear things you never heard before. Good packaging and build quality. So far so good, just need to break them in.
Oh, and kind of silly, but they also look great sitting on your desk.

Great speakers!

After purchasing my new Audio Technica turntable, I needed a pair of powered bookshelf speakers. I ordered the Micca PB42x speakers ... and immediately returned them. They were ridiculously cheaply made (the connector broke while I was wiring the speaker) and the sound was uneven. I decided to splurge on pricier speakers, and these had really great reviews.
Color me impressed. For starters, they're heavy speakers, because they're solidly built. They were easy to set up, thanks to the included booklet, and even easier to use. Unlike the Micca speakers, the volume control is on the front of the speaker. A remote also lets you control the volume (even mute it) from across the room. You can also hook your phone/iPod/iPad right into the speaker and play your music playlists through a direct speaker connection.
But it's the sound that sells it ... it's fantastic. Crisp, clear, resonate. I'm not an audiophile, so I'm not going to offer you any technical feedback. But as a person who just loves listening to music, these speakers are seriously great.
