The perfect wine glass.

I have been using these glasses for about six months and have become a Tritan glass convert. The way the glass conveys aroma from liquid to the rim no matter what varietal is amazing. The break resistance of this glass is truly impressive. Glasses naturally get bumped and dinged in the kitchen and in gatherings and these have done remarkably well. I do recommend hand washing these due to their size and to eliminate water spots. A quick drying with micro-fiber cloth helps keep the glass spotless. These glasses establish perfectly the function and form of what a wine glass is supposed to do.

I really love these glasses but they are very very fragile. They are extremely thin in the wide part of the glass. I have already broken two, one in the dishwasher and one simply by dropping a spoon in it. So if you are thinking about buying these glasses go ahead, they are great. BUT treat them delicately.

HUGE quality decline. The base of these glasses are uneven -- in other words when placed on a flat surface, the glass wobbles (slightly).
Unacceptable. Had bought before many times but either they have shifted their production to a source that is incompetent, or theyve given up on quality control. Sad.

Gorgeous glasses, very high quality. I have other Schott Zwiesel glasses, and they are not only beautiful, but extremely resistant. They fell from counters, they were hit by cutting boards (!), and not a single scratch in any of them. They also have a very thin rim, typical in crystal. I strongly recommend them.

There was an article in Wine Spectator where James Laube talked about the perfect wineglass (article is titled "The Perfect Wineglass: One size fits all" if you want to find it) and he recommends this glass. I'm in the wine business and had just renovated our kitchen with very hard countertops and tile floors and the glasses we had been using were breaking a bit often so I wanted to get a new set.
And so here we are.
So far so good. The glasses have a nice elegant weight to them. The glass is attractively thin. The stem seems sturdy. They make a nice sound when clinked together. We use these for everything - red, white, champagne. All work well.
