I ordered Wesco model 272667, made in PA (USA), which has a braking lever within the left half of the hoop at the top of the vertical lifting, jacking and pulling handle. The pallet truck was delivered, to my garage, 10 days earlier than scheduled. It came fully assembled, ready for action. There were a few minor scrapes in the yellow paint, incurred during shipping, which I am certain Amazon and Wesco will send me touch-up paint for.
This Wesco pallet truck is of exceptional quality, really spectacular. First, it has 2 large and substantial rollers on each lifting tine, a total of 4 (lesser pallet trucks, including those sold by U-Line, have only one roller per tine), - - - plus there is a smaller, nylon roller hidden under the tip of each tine to facilitate tine entry into the pallet to be lifted, a great feature. The wide lifting rollers on the tines are mounted on very solid axles that are attached to a frame which rocks, so that the roller pair remains level; this roller framing mechanism is quite substantial. In fact, the whole pallet truck is built like a tank, weighing 206 pounds.
The unique brake on this particular Wesco model works very well, braking the large, hard-rubber, dual steering wheels. A clever and simple u-shaped device locks this handbrake in the "ON" position. The rubber on the steel rims of the pair of steering wheels is half an inch thick, and quality too. The vertical handle itself is square, and really heavy duty, as is the hydraulic pump assembly and associated braces and operating levers.
This is a product I am sure you will be pleased you bought, as I suspect is the entire Wesco line..
