I bought this hotplate as a lightweight tool for use in processing samples on an oil rig. It functioned perfectly and surpassed all my expectations regarding temperature control which is critical in the process I use. It might be worth the manufacturer considering making a safety screen to avoid accidental skin contact, but that is a suggestion, not a criticism.
