sturdy and inexpensive
overseer✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 13, 2023
This was bought as a worktable in my garage , we needed something long , sturdy and inexpensive, we saw this on Amazon and it fitted the bill perfectly.

On the other hand , I also must disclaim that after I bought this table, I saw a similar one in Lowes for about $90 plus tax. Similar but not exact.

Initial impression - easy to set up and not cheap or low quality, we have seen some of the similar models from other brands and quite simply the quality and craftsmanship of some of these other brands are unacceptable. We are glad that we chose this brand because we can see this table lasting us for years.

Functionality - this table is genuinely portable, most portable table sacrifice the portability for durability and sturdiness, but this one does not. Even adults can hop on and have a dance on the table without worrying about anything breaking. It has coated steel legs and it's braced so the legs will probably last longer than the table.

The table can be folded and stores easily, this is perfect because not everyone has room to store a 96 inch table.

Please also note that the steel leg braces could be obstructive if you plan to store anything under the table
love these tables

I'm a pretty picky consumer. Folding tables are a simple product they've been making for decades, and I feel like we should expect the manufactures to do it really well. So I don't give five stars lightly.

We've had two of these tables for about two years, and they've been great.

We have not been nice to them. For example, one time we ignored them for months, left them folded up outside, against the wall of the house, in weather; the algae and mold that accumulated on the tops cleaned off easily and there's no rust on the legs. Awesome!

We use them for outdoor parties. One time we were stacking stones to keep the wind from stealing the tablecloths, but the tables themselves stayed steady.

We also built plywood tops for indoor use, 38" x 8', allowing each table to seat 10. The table takes the weight of the wood, 10 people's dishes & food, assorted platters, and maybe the odd napping head.

They are just easy enough for one person to setup and move. I'm 5'-6"; I think somebody shorter might have a harder time, just because of the size - not the weight. Folded, one person can move them, no problem. As with most folding tables, remember to check the leg locks!

Folded, the underside is flatter / smoother than many folding tables, so they are easy to stack & unstack. (Not smooth like the top, put better than many.) The top is one piece of plastic, nothing to snag, come unglued, etc.

A few notes, which I don't consider negatives but they might be a problem for some uses. The top's edges are beveled, and the corners are rounded, so if you put two together it won't make one continuous surface. Also, the top has a very slight pebbly texture, so it's not perfect for writing unless you have something under your piece of paper. Finally, if you're used to writing your organization's name in big letters on the underside of your tables, you'll need a different plan: the underside is like an egg carton.

Oh, and the tops are translucent - I bet somebody could do something fun with colored lights shining up from the underside!
This table was tremendously good value and has performed exactly as hoped

This table was tremendously good value and has performed exactly as hoped. At five feet it gives you just a bit more surface without taking up too much space. And five foot lengths are hard to find. Almost no office, home or general purpose store carries a five foot length.

There is no hinge in the middle to create instability or to interfere with the smooth surface. The fold down, locking legs are sturdy. There is no height adjustment, but the trade-off is that as a result there is no "wiggle" or looseness in the firmly planted legs.

The surface is very very slightly pebbled.

We use the table mostly for handicrafts, sewing projects, puzzles, and projects that have to be spread out. But we've also piled a lot of weight on it from time to time without a hint of bowing or distortion. While the table feels sturdy and is metal framed it only weighs a bit over 30 pounds, so it is easy to set up, take down, and move around.

A very nice purchase; a superior product.
Good, affordable "desk" for college students (like me)
A Student✓ Verified PurchaseMay 29, 2023
Really nice table. I bought this for college because I needed a cheap "desk" for the interim. So I'm going to review this table as a "desk" (in case anyone is looking to buy a cheap "desk" for themselves).

==========
Pros:
1. The table has little plastic feet at the bottom to prevent the table from tearing up your carpet and/or scratching up your floors. Not all tables have feet, and these particular plastic feet seem to be of good quality.

2. The table is VERY stable. I tried shaking it to see if it rattles, but it does not. (This is a big deal for me because I don't want to use a desk that shakes/rattles as I write.)

3. 5 feet is the perfect desk size. I think any less than 5 feet would feel small, and anything bigger than 5 feet would feel large.

4. This table is extremely SMOOTH despite a very subtle texture on the top. When I write, my writing does not look squiggly at all. This is a big plus for me because, well, I don't want the handwriting on my homework looking squiggly.

5. This table is only about 30 lbs, which is pretty light (all things considered). Basically, you only need 1 or 2 people to carry it, which makes it extremely portable and easy to move in/out of apartments. (If you're a student like me, this is a big deal.)

6. It's the right height. If you have a computer chair at home, it'll work perfectly with this desk. (I personally bought my computer chair at a used furniture store for $25 and it was hardly used at all. So if you're in need of a chair for this desk, you may want to consider used furniture to help you reduce cost, as opposed to buying some cheap plastic chair.)

==========
Cons:

1. This isn't a huge con for me, but this table doesn't look like a desk at all (duh). If you're looking for something that could pass as a real desk, this isn't the table for you. The metal legs stand out quite a bit when put next to real furniture - but if all you need is something functional, then who cares about the legs?

2. This also isn't a huge con for me, but I thought I'd point it out: On both ends of the table, there is an engraved logo that says "National Public Seating". It's about 1 inch in height and 3 inches in width. If you want to share your desk with your friends (like when you invite them over to do homework with you), the logo might get in the way of your writing unless you put something solid on top of it to cover it. For me, it's not a big deal because I'm not sharing this desk.

==========
Conclusion:

I would buy this table again if I ever needed a second "desk". I do have my own computer desk at home, but I've taken it apart so many times that I'm afraid I won't be able to put it back together again if I do take it apart. Though, the great thing about this "desk" is that it can also be used as a workbench OR picnic table when/if you buy a real desk for yourself. It has many uses, and it's very stable. It's only about $50, so you can't really go wrong here.
Pros and cons, overall, I like it...

Pros:
- The table top have rectangular metal bars underneath for the front and back sides to give it strength from sagging at the edges all across, plus about a spread out hand width support in the middle and round metal tubing support where both legs are.
- It's smooth enough to write on.

Cons:
The issue is with the plastic molding table top, obviously hollowed, even though it has lots of indents underneath to help support it from sagging. I'm using two tables for computers, each with a desktop case(located right in the middle of the end legs on the far edge of each table), a 30" monitor in the middle of the desk, right at the back side, over the rectangular metal bar, the plastic table top is still sagging a little bit, not at the support metal bars, but the molded hollow plastic itself, not to the point of being ridiculous and useless, but it does sag and I can see the slight difference.

Conclusion:
Overall, for the price, I definitely would use this over any particle board computer desks.
