Real. Basic. Bacon. Cans are a bit hit or miss: some taste fresh, some tastes... not fresh.

EDIT: first things first. This is NOT premium or select or any of that fancy bacon you can buy. It is very thin sliced bare bones bacon without all the spices or thick cuts we have all gotten used to. Just some plain old bacon like they used to have back in the day before everything went so gourmet.

It truly is real bacon, in a long term storage can. BUT the cans are a bit of hit or miss. First can I opened, oh my god it was as if it had been cooked and packaged earlier that morning. 30 seconds in microwave and the house was permeated with fresh bacon smells, with taste to match. To say I and my family were sold was an understatement. Then the 2nd can got opened and it NOT the same fresh taste. 3rd can was not as bad as the 2nd can, but still no where near as 'real' bacon smell and tasting as the first can. 4th can was probably as good as the 1st, but my enthusiasm had already been dimmed by the middle 2 cans. Last 2 cans are in with my long term storage foods. Will eventually buy more.
