They Look Effective
JRMarch 12, 2017
How can I rate the product for effective protection when I have no way of testing the shielding. There are many wallets for which I read reviews regarding their protection from scanning. The reviews are not complementary. I chose what I hoped was a simpler method of protection offering what appears to be aluminum deposited on plastic film. With some trimming, they fit my new wallet and that's the extent of my review..
Individual card protection

I bought these because they were separate protectors. I don't keep all my credit cards in my wallet. I hide them around. While that's a kind of physical security -- not all my eggs in one basket: steal my wallet or my purse and you might miss the hidden ones -- it's not any kind of security against electronic theft. So now each of my cards is hidden within its own protector. I had enough left over to protect the cards I keep at home. I'm having to trust that the sleeves ARE protecting, but enough reviewers have put them through a screening that I believe they are effective.
Easy, thin and gives security!

I like the design and fit of the sleeves. I can fit two credit cards in one, if needed. I was expecting sleeves like the ones pictured, but they aren't. They are plain silver with RFID on them. I think having some different solid colors or designs would be cool.
Although, I am not sure if they work, I do feel more secure having them.
Necessary, for the same reason we need shredders

I'll have to take someone else's advice that these do the job promised since I have no way of testing. But I think it's important to use these. One sleeve easily fits three credit cards, so you don't have to have every card in a separate one. I have my credit cards in one, my driver's license in another (there's ID info on a DL strip), and my medical insurance ID cards in a third (there are magnetic strips on them, too). I give them to all my family members because you can't do enough to protect personal information from thieves. Another use for these: if you mail someone a gift card, put it in one of these sleeves before you mail it. I had a $50 gift card stolen from the US mail awhile back and you can't insure gift cards. Which leads me to believe the USPS knows there are people scanning the mail in some places. I took off one star because these are unnecessarily ugly. But they are a good value, price-wise. I have also purchased passport protectors from Amazon.
PROTECTING ONESELF & PRIVACY

Having had a stolen identity, via another company being 'cyber attacked,' I had to replace my credit card three times this year; therefore, I now keep any and all cards in these RFID protectors, which should also be made for our clothing, shoes, etc as we were so warned about by the MIT professor who first alerted us to the RFID danger.

Everywhere we go we are carrying RFID 'id' with us - in supermarkets, on land, and sea, that identifies what we have, buy, look at, etc. So, a few card covers are well worth the cost.
