I used Crain for 15 years. My wife purchased a Roberts carpet stretcher online and saved money. After 2 jobs the Roberts stretcher extension tubes where hard to connect and by the 4th job the stretcher head snapped. We where unable to get a replacement from Roberts so I went ahead a purchased the 499 by Crain. That was 8 years and 30 jobs ago. I was not worth the hassled.
