This was really a 5 star. It'll freeze items if you want it to. Have it in my semi truck. Gets cold FAST !!!. Reason for 4 stars was customer service. The lid didn't fit well and would come off easy. No help from reseller, referred me to Dometic, which took two months to resolve. Wasn't a big deal, they were nice about it and sent me a new lid, which fix the problem.

My mother-in-law lives in a small apartment in an assisted living facility. The freezer in her little refrigerator is the type with a plastic flap in the front and no back so it is very small and frosts up if you have it cold enough to freeze things. She has this portable freezer plugged into the wall in her bedroom and fits ice cream sandwiches, breads and even some of her own sauce in it. It is silent and very efficient. Now her 'freezer' in the refrigerator is just another shelf and no longer being relied upon to freeze things.

We used this on our two week vacation and it was great! Our dog can only eat Darwin's raw food that is frozen in 2# packages. This Portable did the job. Once we got to our destination that had a freezer, we used it to keep water bottles cold for company. On our return trip, most of the food for our pet was used up. We brought home ice cream from a favorite shop. It was frozen solid and made a great dessert went we got home.

Unit arrived with the plastic vent framework cracked. Still testing everything out. I think the + and - temperature buttons are backwards unless I'm misunderstanding something.
