JK Spare Tire Antenna Mount
JeepGuy52•April 15, 2018
The Good: Solid piece of metal. Great powdercoat. Spacers welded on bracket. Holes lined up perfectly.
The Bad: Have to sand off powdercoat around mounting holes to ensure good ground, or your antenna won't work. Holes too big for standard firestik antenna stud. Easily fixed with a flat washer, but still. Once mounted, the bracket leaned toward the back glass of my hard top causing the antenna to hit wiper blade. Again, easy fix with a big crescent wrench and using the 3rd brake light as a reference, but I shouldn't have to modify a part that's supposed to be made for a specific application.
Overall, I'm very happy with this bracket but, be prepared to do some "adjusting". Would buy again.

Fits, level, no spacers needed
Nae Nae de Marco•March 24, 2018
This is well built, has appropriate spacing added I to the build and a bend or angle to make everything flush and level. Based on some older reviews I anticipated needing to add spacers... Pleasantly surprised everything was made to spec and it worked perfect with no additions or modifications

Seems to be quality construction. I mean it's just a block of painted metal. Unfortunately, every time I have attempted to tune a CB with this antenna mount the SWRs are too high. I've adjusted the antennas as much as possible without any luck. Honestly, I think this mount rests too close to the body of the Jeep causing interference. Keep in mind running a CB with high SWRs will give you terrible signal, and will burn up your fuse or possibly your CB radio. I'd go with something different. But who am I to tell you what to do? You're a red blooded American, the choice is yours.
Minor mod to use with Ham antenna.

Very solid mount but perhaps not perfectly level but close. I had to ream out the holes to accommodate a standard SO-239 mount for a 2m/440 antenna. Took about 10 min manually with a rat tail file. Would buy again.
Love this mount
DS•May 16, 2016
Love this mount. Heavy duty and dependable. Have a 5ft Firestick FSII top loader and Fire ring 18ft cable & stud mount installed in it on a 2013 Rubicon JKU. Transmitted appox. 28miles on ch12 last night while I was wheeling on a salt water marsh road (no obstructions for a mile or so), no big numbers but nice and clear they said. I am getting 1.2:1 swr at ch1 & 1.1:1 swr at ch20 & ch40 straight off the mount with no adjustments to antenna length and no extra ground wires, just peeled back the powder coat from the bolt holes and applied lots of dielectric grease to every bolt hole and fitting. Solid continuity from the mount, radio, and cable to the frame.
