Very good suction power but not very good for a fireplace or woodstove because the small size diameter hose gets clogged up with most any unburned pieces bigger than fine ash and the filter inside gets clogged up with fine ash requiring frequent stops to remove pieces from the hose and fine ash from the filter. Probably good for a pellet stove that would not have the bigger chunks that a fireplace does. On the plus side it comes with lots of accessories so it's pretty good for cleaning out the fireplace once you've shoveled out the bigger chunks and also with the casters on the bottom as a handy little shop vac

Excellent. Best purchase on Amazon I've made. I've used this several times since it's purchase and am amazed at how efficient it is. It vacuums up every last bit of ash from my pellet stove. Very impressed with the quality. and it's not as noisy as my normal vacuum.

this works ok but i had hoped it would save time and effort and in the end it adds a step. it's really too small so i have to clean it out each time i do the fireplace or woodstove. Powersmith advertised the size correctly, i just somehow didn't compute that this is not a time saver at all.

This is just a vacuum cleaner with a superfine filter. If you have a small shop vac, you can use that with a superfine filter and attain the same results. It's not really fireproof because most of it is plastic and if you suck up a hot ember, it could burn. So this vacuum really is no different than any other small shop vac except possibly more expensive.

Everything works as expected. Suction power is good. Only thing is bothering me is that red full indicator is showing full after about ten, about 30 second usages with my pellet stove. Tank was fill just about an inch only. I have emptied it washed silver looking filter however red full indicator is still showing full. So, I have removed motor filter and red full indicator went off. In this case motor filter, has clogged very fast with very nominal usage.
