it was however easily repaired with a little super glue

The ball joint flange broke off within 15 seconds of opening the package; it was however easily repaired with a little
super glue. Aside from the disappointment of having a new toy break immediately after opening it, this tuner is
difficult to complain about. It is easy to use, accurate and responsive, but my favorite feature is that it turns on
right away, compared with a 3-4 second delay with the competitors model. And all for about $12. Hard to go wrong.
Very nice, just be careful of the swivel

I've had a few snarks over the years. This one is the best - it instantly locks on to the note, and the readout doesn't bounce around as you raise or lower the pitch. The only thing I DON'T like about them is the swivel part is pretty fragile - in fact, all the snarks that I've had have broken in that manner. But they all did a good job tuning, and the display quality is excellent.
It is not like I tune every minute of every day

Bought Feb 8 and it broke (the holder part) on April 7. I would have expected it to last longer than that....especially since it really isn't used that much. It is not like I tune every minute of every day! It should not have broken so soon.
Great price for a great product.

I would give it 5 stars, however, I am a little upset that the SNARK website shows the current product logo says "SUPERTIGHT" on the top of the tuner and "SNARK" on the bottom. The listing for this product states that this is the newest model, so I'm just a little curious to which is true. It works great like any chromatic tuner would, however, I have only tested it on a guitar. I have yet to test it on my violin to see how well it works.

As far as the shipment, I ordered this on Prime and received my package one day early so I was very pleased.
I need a hybrid of the SN-8 and SN-5.

I bought this SN-8 Tuner and a SN-5 Tuner, although I received the SN-8 first. It's very accurate and the display is easy to read, and has bigger colored indicator bars while tuning, more so than other Snark tuners. I also really like that it has a metronome, pitch calibration and transposes as well. The metronome is kind of "meh". Even a tiny digital "beep" would be better than just silent. Or even the option to have the metronome be silent or a beep would be amazing. The finish on the outside of this thing is cool. Matte black with that grippy but not sticky "smooth" texture. Hard to explain but it feels and looks cool. I love that it is NOT glossy.

Having said that, lets move on to the SN-5. The one I got IS glossy, despite the pictures on Amazon showing that the SN-5 in the picture as matte black as well. The display on this one is great, and I actually much prefer the finer lines and "cents" indicators to that of the SN-8. But it lacks the metronome, pitch calibrator and transpose capabilities of the SN-8. Honestly, having tried both of them, I really wish there was an SN-9 or SN-10. A hybrid of the two that was matte black, had all the features of the SN-8, but the display of the SN-5. It's actually quite odd that this doesn't exist considering the display of the SN-5 actually HAS the metronome heart, the pitch calibration and transpose graphics ON it already. It just has finer visual indicators for tuning as compared to the SN-8.

I know its just a 10 dollar tuner, but its kind of disappointing looking at the SN-5, seeing those features on the display, and knowing they do not actually work on this model. Yet you can SEE them there!! Maddening! lol.
