If you're looking for the ideal set for a middle school child or live in a colony of persons under 5' tall, this is the perfect dinette for you. Compact? You betcha. Our 14lb dog will enjoy eating her meals here. Came with a nice crack right down the middle of the table, too -- handy for holding business cards or catching wayward grains of rice.

Pros: Relatively easy construction. Only 7 swear words used.
Cons: Size. Crack. That 14lb dog will enjoy it more than we will.

***Updated review: The 3rd party seller gave us a 30% credit for the damaged table which was nice. Unfortunately, it did not increase the chairs 30% in size.

Very pleased with this table. I live in a small one-bedroom apartment, so I don't have a large kitchen or formal dining room. This table fits my apartment perfectly; not too big, not too small. The package arrived undamaged and the included instructions were easy to follow. The actual assembly took about two hours. I had some trouble getting a few of the wooden dowels into their respective holes. Other than that, it was pretty simple to put together. Despite the complaints in some of the other reviews, I think the chairs are comfortable enough for sitting through a meal. They're not the best, but they aren't horrible either. I'm a 5' 11" athletic male and I think these chairs are at the proper height, despite what some reviews have stated. My biggest complaint is with how the yellow plastic straps on the underside of the table were stapled to the wood. With some strong pliers I managed to carefully remove the plastic straps, but it was a pain. Overall, I do not regret this purchase.

Great table! Just as it looks in the picture. The table is very sturdy! I'm not a wood expert at all, but I know this this is heavy for its size (it's not a heavy table, it's just not light and "fake" feeling). That tells me it is solid wood and not particle/press board. The chairs, on the other hand, are very light. I like it because when I need to grab a chair to stand on, these are the ones I go for because they're easy to transport and are sturdy and reliable also easy to pull out from the table. I want to repeat that this table is very sturdy and solid. Assembly mainly involved the chairs as the table only required me to attach the legs, but the chairs might as well be in a million pieces (I know, I exaggerate). I think the instructions said to have someone help you when assembling the chairs, because I had to like hold the right side of the chair and hold on to the piece that i was attaching to that right side and I had to hold the screwdriver. It was a little bit of a juggling act, but I got it, and I do love the finished product!

I would've given it a 5 STAR RATING however, the chairs weren't the color as displayed in the stock photo. I ended up with a SANDY BEIGE NOT THE OFF WHITE CREAM as depicted. You may come across these really huge heavy duty staples in the wood underneath the table. They were used to secure these thick plastic straps. Had to leave them be to avoid damaging the wood any further. I cut as close as I could to hide it from sight.

I will say this though, one of my close friends came by and boy did he put my chair to the test. HE'S close to 230 lbs and he was ROCKING back and forth ON THE TWO BACK LEGS of the chair. It was able to take all of his weight. ITS SO DURABLE. I'M AMAZED!!!

I put this thing together all alone with these long pointy solar fake girlie nails. Just finished working out and was already tired when I started. Took me a little over an hour and a half to get it all done. So it should be a cake walk for anyone without fake nails who's just got up from a nap lol

i'm 5 feet 8 inches tall, so this table is suitable for the tall and the small. I know I always wish people would put some sort of a visual comparison aid near the things I'm interested in buying. So I placed a RULER near the CHAIR LEG. Hope that helps a bit.

This has greatly improved the decor in my apartment. I finally look like I'm all moved in. Love having my friends over now to break bread with. I'm HOSTESS EXTRAORDINAIRE now

The size is great for a small apartment. The chairs are wide but the height of back support is short. All the items were simple to put togther with an allen key. You will need a screw driver for the cushions.
