So far so good. Turned it to between 4 and 5 and it nearly froze a few 7UP the kids had put in. Works great. Very quiet. Shipping was outstandingly fast but it must have been a little rough. The box with all of the accessories bounced around inside bending the shelves. I bent them back no problem. Only thing that could be helpful is if the hoses to the tape were marked left and right..
Good unit, but some cheap parts and poor packaging
Jake Wilson✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 30, 2017
Recently purchased and assembled this unit as a gift for my father. This is my honest take on the unit from my experience.

First things first, the packaging that it was shipped in was somewhat shoddy. Double-boxed, but the bottom of the interior box was ripped out completly allowing it to move inside the outer box. I believe this led to at least one of the following defects. After unboxing, I found that there was a ~4" gash in the side of the unit; the paint wasn't scratched but it is very noticeable. Part of the metal frame at the bottom of the door face was warped outward, which until smashed back flush with a hammer was interrupting the door seal (which would have allowed cold air to escape). Finally, one of the two interior shelves was hastily shoved into the interior of the unit during packaging and was half bent; I could not fully unbend the shelf to look "normal". If we didn't need this assembled and operational the next day for a surprise party, then it would have been sent back for a replacement unit.

Beyond this, the unit itself is pretty well built. The parts are all of average quality, and the unit itself holds sub-40 degree temperature well. The CO2 and beer line tubing are both PVC based, I will be upgrading the beer lines to an antibacterial sanitary grade tubing at a later time (Ultra Barrier Silver). The CO2 tank regulator is only a single gauge unlike most others on the market that show both the tank pressure along with the line pressure; this isn't a big deal but it would be nicer if it was dual gauge in order to monitor the tank pressure to know when you need to get it refilled. The tower comes with interior insulation, which I have found to be very good as it keeps it cold enough and to not pour a ton of foam when you haven't poured in a while, and a lot of other towers on the market do not come with interior insulation. The taps are decent, but drip for a minute or two after pouring anything; I'll be upgrading these to Perlick taps for sanitary reasons regardless but they suffice. BE SURE TO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE TAPS BEFORE USE, there was some black "gunk" (almost like a grease) that was just inside both of our faucets. The keg couplers were fine. There were no issues with the CO2 tank itself. All of the supplied hardware (line T, hose clamps, etc) were sufficient.

My final gripes about the unit. The sides (but not front or rear) get HOT on the outside, more so than any minifridge I've ever owned (which is essentially what this is - a glorified minifridge with taps). The drip plate is also just a piece of cheap rectangular plastic that sits on the top of the unit under the taps, and unlike most drip trays on the market it does not have an inset curved shape to set flush around the tower, it just awkwardly sets there and looks out of place on a $500 unit.

The instructions were easy and simple to follow, if you're mechanically inclined in the slightest, then you won't have any issues assembling this. All in all this unit was worth the money over restoring an old Kegerator that we had with a new dual-tap Kegko kit (that project was about $80 less altogether than buying this new unit). I will however be upgrading a lot of the components here - drip tray, taps, beer line tubing, and possibly the regulator.
Draft beer on tap, but needs minor upgrades.

Fairly easy to put together, and what's better than draft beer at home?!

As some have said here, the first beer poured is mostly foam, and it happens again if you leave it longer than 30 minutes between pours. Wrapped a towel around it, which seemed to help, so ordered a neoprene sleeve to see if it solved the problem. If not, then I'll need to consider a fan.

Generally much quieter than I expected. No "refrigerator running" noises, but occasional squeaks from the CO2 pressurizing are a small nuisance. Hardly worth mentioning, really.

I have the edgestar for several months now, other than the tap handles sticking if you don't use it all the time, It has been an excellent purchase. Note it does not come with a filled tank, so plan on getting it filled. 1 tanks has lasted me about 6 kegs and is still going strong.
So far so good...

Have had it up and running for about a week now. Easy to put together and everything seems to be working fine. Having beer on tap right in the kitchen means I can now die happy.
