This is a good product and I would give a 5 star review except for a couple of things. 1. where top and bottom uprights meet there should have been a substantial clip, but the joint depended on the third shelf to hold the uprights together. 2. Packaging should have been better from the manufacturer as when it arrived I had 2 shelve inserts that were broken on the end not enough so they would fail but enough to weaken the unit. Other than that assembly is better suited to 2 people than just 1.

Ordered this shelf unit for my garage, paying full price. It arrived one day early in good condition and was assembled the day it arrived. This is my third shelf unit of this design and I have been pleased with the previous two units for more than 10 years. This shelf is fairly easy to assemble, although it is also very easy to assemble it wrong; every single piece of the shelf can be assembled upside down if not paying attention, causing the need to take it apart and reassemble correctly. My advice is to double check that each piece is right side up before attaching and you won't have any problems. The black color of this shelf looks great, better than the two grey ones I have.

Not junk but close to it. I should have been warned by the low price. This is a poor copy of the now largely un-obtainable Gorilla Rack GRZ series. The parts fit poorly, so poorly that it would not stay together whilst being assembled without extreme measures (clamping each piece). It is of very thin metal with parts poorly formed so that the fit is loose and the sections do not stack securely at all. Paint is so bad as to be nearly non-existent, I expect to be seeing rust in a year or so. I doubt that it will hold the weight it is rated for safely, I resorted to screwing the assembled rack to the wall to support it before putting anything on the shelves.

Bottom line. Look for a better solution unless your application can tolerate this weak product. I expected better from Edsal.

THIS SHELF UNIT IS OK, BUT IM GLAD I WORK AT A SHOP TO WELD THE TWO HALVES TOGETHER. THIS SHELF UNIT EXPECTS THE MIDDLE SHELF BAR TO HOLD THE TWO HALVES TOGETHER, AND IT IS VERY WEAK IF YOU DONT WELD THE TWO HALVES TOGETHER. ONCE I TOOK CARE OF THE SHELVES BY WELDING THE UPRIGHTS TOGETHER THE SHELVES ARE VERY NICE. THEY SHOULD HAVE PROVIDED A PIECE TO HOLD THE LEG PIECES TOGETHER, LIKE THE 18" SHELF KITS DO.

This is the 5th Edsal shelf we have purchased. We own three that are 18'' deep, but prefer this one that is 24''. We purchased this particular shelf to go in our garage to store our camping items. We wound up with an extra shelf for storage! We pulled the shelf off the wall by a couple of inches so the longer items can hang off the back.
Pros:
* It holds a lot of stuff
* Two shelves are adjustable
Cons:
* It is a bit tricky to put together. It took two people.
* The shelf material is a cheap particle board.The corners start to crumble right out of the box. However, once it is in place, it is very sturdy.
* For this particular shelf the metal sides are slightly higher than the particle board. It is not a huge inconvenience, however our last shelf the boards were higher and I liked that much better. (See pictures.)

I paid full price for this item. I am giving my honest and unbiased review.
