This was perfect! I attached tethered dental instruments to them for an experiment.
Adequate to hold things but doesn't seem very stable

I got this to help hold and position a lamp. The most noticeable thing when using this was how wobbly it was - perhaps because of how thin the rod is. The base and rod were very shiny when unpacked, but started rusting after a few months of use. Eventually someone stole this stand (or borrowed it permanently), and I haven't felt motivated to go find it.
