My husband travels via commercial airline and flies helicopters for his job. He also stands for long periods while teaching. He is also at risk for blood clots. Yikes. I thought it would be a battle to even coax him to wear these on a commercial flight, but now he prefers these socks to wear all the time. He had noticed his legs were less tired and swollen after wearing these socks. I purchased enough to get him through his work week away from home, and some different colors. For the price, I consider it as an investment in his health and comfort.

Product arrived in an internal package that was open, missing the bottom flap, severely beat up, and the internal bag around the product had been opened and the top flap folded back. It looked VERY well used. However, the socks still had original factory creases in them, so I washed and dried them and tried them on. They fit perfectly, better than any others have. I'm new to compression items and am having a hard time finding well-fitting items, so this was a nice change. I can't attest to longevity, but the fit for me is perfect and they actually feel good. 6' 1", 250#, XL based on 2 of three measurements on the chart. Rating is 5 stars for the product, but I'd rate the seller with one star based on their thinking sending merchandise out in packaging that looks like that is acceptable.

I have had many pairs of Travelsox over the years, starting with my first pair from Travelsmith. I never travel without them, and often wear them in the cooler weather, just for the comfort. I like it that there are various weights and degrees of padding, as well as colors/patterns, and I've never had a pair that I didn't like. The compression isn't too much and is nicely graduated. There are many travel socks available, but I don't try them because I'm completely satisfied with these.

This is really subjective because half the reviews say they are extremely tight and the other half say they are too loose. I have a gluten and dairy intolerance which makes my entire body swell about 15 lbs. My feet become big cinder blocks; with almost a 50% increase in size. I tried these socks on WHILE SWOLLEN.

I am a female that wears a size 7 shoe. I have slim feet and legs (when not swollen); 5' 3", 155 lbs. According to the size chart, I should have bought a medium. Thank goodness I didnt. I bought the size small which is for size 3-6 shoes. When I got them, I immediately saw that they were BIGGER in the foot and leg than my typical knee highs. I grabbed the top cuff and just slipped them all the way up, easy as pie. I'm a nurse, and compression socks should take a small act of God to get on...otherwise they aren't tight enough. The box does say to expect them to shrink a bit. I don't know if I can trust that the shrinkage will be enough, or if I should return them.

I read tons of reviews but really no one bothers to give measurements so that other people can judge. Here are my SWOLLEN measurements so you can compare to yourself:
Widest part of calf: 12.5 inches
Middle of foot (arch; swollen) 9 1/8 inch
Socks came to middle of knee on my 5'3" frame.
Again, I wear a size 7 shoe in length, but the size Small for 3-6 shoe was too big and slipped on quite easily.

Bought these for an upcoming flight to China, but wore them on a 3 hour flight this week just to try them out. I wear a shoe size 9 (women's) and the medium fit just right ... just a little long, but haven't been washed yet. The leg part fit snugly, but not too tight, and they felt great all day! My only caution is they are very thick, as someone else mentioned. Since I wore them with tennis shoes, wasn't a problem, but they'd never work with some of my shoes! They also are very warm, which I'm sure will be welcome on a long flight.
