Poor quality lace but great frog.

After the third time trying the lace a scenario the frog the leather lace broke fortunately I had extra paracord laying around somewhere and proceeded to replace the frog... Ya some people are right the lace is like fake leather as nd can't hold up to a heavy sword. If they switched out the fake leather and provided paracord which holds better this frog would definitely be worth it but aside from that the other parts hold up to me trying to place it on an old duty belt for any apocalypse.

Bonded leather and pleather, not real leather. If you care about that, then look somewhere else. If, like me, the price was what attracted you, then by all means, buy a couple. You will need more than one if you intend to subject this to stress for any length of time. The fabric behind the thin veneer will give out quickly. I'm not sure why this product is advertised as "real leather" because it is not, although it *may* have come into contact with a cow at some point. Regardless, for the price, it is perfectly acceptable. Even a factory-made item like this from 100% (decent) leather would cost several times what this item is selling for. Would have given 5 stars, but they blatantly lied about what this product was made of. Be aware.
Good angle for carry but not durable.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago. I started out well. I liked the angle and how it hung off the belt. Unfortunately, the rivets started coming out the second weekend of the faire. I was able to work them back in and hammer them a bit so they lasted the rest of the season but the next year (last year) the leather finally tore out around them. I only carry either a light-weight replica rapier or a small scottish dirk so nothing that should have worn it out so soon, in my opinion. I'm going to look for something a bit sturdier for this yer.

I love this! Exactly what I had been looking for!
It arrived early, looks exactly as shown (some reviewers say they got shoe laces instead of a cord...I got a suede/leather cord or some said it was not the same color, mine was black as shown).
It will look great with many of my swords and with the lacing it can be adjusted to the various sizes of swords.
I wish they had a leftie version as I am left handed but you can't beat the price (I paid $7.99)!

This is a very well made frog, and great value for the cost. The leather is thick cowhide, and the rivets are top notch. The dye is smooth, and free of flaws after a few trips to the Faire, it shows no signs of wear. It's slightly too large for the my sword sheath, but that will be easily corrected, and is no fault of the frog itself. I recommend this item!
