Because it's pricier than most of the competition, I had to wait before affording one. But it was a no-brainer. The diff cover on my f-350 had orange corrosion on it and less fluid capacity. Now the view from the rear looks fantastic and I can keep the unit in better shape when towing a heavy rv. It's rugged, too! Hadn't been installed more than a couple of weeks when, as I was SLOWLY creeping up a soft dirt road, the rear tires started spinning. Put it in low 4, hit the gas and felt a "ka-chunk" as I motored up the grade. Later on, my friend noticed a half exposed tree root in my path that was bleeding out sap and pretty scuffed up. Evidently, I chewed up the tree root with the new diff cover without nary a scratch, leak or worse. If you drive your truck on the hard side get one!

I like these. Not sure if they do much more than look good and make servicing easy. But that is all I ask of it besides not leaking... Install is easy. Everything you need to install it comes with it. If you have a truck with spare tire under the bed, go ahead and take it down so you can pretty much sit back there and see everything. If you have an Excursion like me, it still isn't hard, you just have to work around that 44 gallon gas tank. There is still plenty of room and still an easy install. My favorite part is how easy servicing is. There is an oil check plug on the face, a drain on the bottom and a very handy dipstick fill on top. It couldn't be easier. No messing with that plug on the side of the diff. I also like not using sealant and waiting a day before you can fill it. This is install fill and go simple. A quality piece that is made in the USA.
