This is a great blend for reducing sodium. It is a blend, not a straight up salt imitator; however, it has a salty quality - unlike all other "salt-substitute" blends that I have tried.

It also does not contain potassium chloride and therefore does not have that bitter after taste.

I have noticed that the saltiness is most pronounced if I use this product after cooking as opposed to applying it to raw foods prior to cooking.

This is well worth buying. I would recommend this to friends.

I'm not on a low sodium diet. Just on a No Salt Daniel Fast. The first year I tried it, I bought Mrs. Dash. It didn't do a thing for me. I'm on the second week of my fast now, and I had gotten to the point where I didn't want to eat anything at all because everything was so bland and disgusting without salt. No, this doesn't taste just like salt, but it's a whole lot better than nothing. I experienced a mildly salty sensation while eating it on my food. The great thing about it is that it doesn't have that potassium chloride aftertaste. I can taste the lemon in it though. When you eat it straight, it's not all that good, but when you put it on your food, it removes the blandness of not having salt at all. I'll admit, it's not good enough for me to stop using salt altogether. After my fast is over, I'm going back to the real thing, but having this gives me the inspiration I need to be able to make it to the finish line. I must give the Benson's people their props. They've come up with the best salt substitute I've found thus far.

This little bottle of veggies is amazing! It's simply a bottle of whole foods which are completely healthy! It tastes great on just about everything and I was absolutely blown away at how salty it tasted even though there is absolutely no salt at all in it. So I can still enjoy the flavor of salt without the unhealthy effects & dangers that come with using salt. Yep Amazing!!!!!

Just arrived today. I put some in my hand and took a taste. I was pleasantly surprised sort of salty tart flavor. I can see how this is going to season food very nicely. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Update: I have been using this seasoning regularly in my cooking. This is truly a great tasting seasoning mix. Excellent. Well worth it.

Additional update: Used this on popcorn, absolutely delicious. That says it all.

Additional Update: Excellent whether you are avoiding sodium or not. While this seasoning is great to add when cooking, I find it is also nice to add to your beans or pasta dishes when served. I can't tell you how much I love this seasoning. I also love that it doesn't have potassium so my mother who has Chronic Heart Failure can use it as a sodium substitute.
