Unless you're specifically using this for decoration, keep scrolling right past this drum. It's too small for a toddler. It makes little to no sound. It is the size of a coffee cup. Reading is fundamental. I thought I read the specs & reviews but obviously I read it for the wrong one. It came after the expected delivery date. Save yourself the annoyance that I'm feeling right at this very moment!

First off, you should definitely pay attention to the specs since the product pic is a little misleading as far as its size goes.
Now, the actual drum itself. I would actually remove djembe from the description completely. It really isnt that at all. Congo/Bongo...much closer to the truth. For some reason, it has skins on both ends, and so as you might imagine, that actually kills any tone it might have. It has a very weak, woody sound...unless you use those little "mallets", which do improve the sound. Mallet might be stretching the truth though. They arent long enough to actually hold. Rather, you have to swing them around by twirling the drum itself.
So, what is this thing good for? IMO, it is an excellent childrens toy. It is also solidly built, so that is a positive as well. Still, overall, if you arent planning to give this to a toddler or use it as a decoration (it does look cool), I would probably not even bother with it.
