I wanted to give just a 4 star review because it's a great and sturdy product, but I just wish that the photos had given a clearer picture of size when compared to the animal species' it's marketed toward keeping. But since perhaps I missed something vital in the description, I'm going with the 5 stars since I shouldn't knock a star for my oversight.

I own Syrian hamsters and ordered this to serve as a travel cage when transporting an individual from place to place. However, this particular size isn't large enough for Syrian hamsters, unless they are pups. Photos below are of my Willow, who weighs in at about 200 grams (so, on the larger end of Syrian hamster sizes) and you can see how little room she has in this carrier. It might work only if one was going to keep the hamster in it for a very short period of time. That said, I wish instead of using the word "hamster" in the description, that they would specify which species of hamsters as this would be great for any of the dwarf or Chinese species, but not so much for the Syrian hamsters. I don't even know what they mean by it's good for "small rats" as only young rat pups would comfortably fit in this size carrier without bending the dickens out of their tails.

Luckily, Living World DOES make a larger carrier in this style (the maroon one), so I'll just order that and donate this to someone with dwarf hamsters or mice.

Perfect size for trips to the vet for my 2.5 lb guinea pig. Would also be good for hamsters, mice, etc. Clear top made it easy to see how they were doing while we were on the way.

Very easy to put together and came exactly as shown, but I should've known that something that snaps together as easily as this wouldn't be very good for carrying actual animals. The first time I put it together I put just one of my young rats (not even full grown, female) in and after less than a minute, the bottom fell apart from the top and sent her crashing to the floor.

I use this to take my rats to the vet one at a time and it works great. I also can fit all 6 of my girls in it to safely move them from their cage to the bathroom for playtime

This is an amazing carrier for my Syrian hamster. In the beginning, I didn't know which size to buy, so I bought. Turned out that the small is wayyyy too small. Physically, a large Syrian hamster can fit inside but it is definitely overwhelming for them. So I would definitely recommend the large one. And it's only a few dollars more expensive for a much larger case. If you're concern about it being too big, don't worry. It is perfect. The size small should've been labeled as mini, and the large should be a small. Even though it's a bit hard to assemble but it's a great buy
