Great in reciepes that call for low sodium diets.

So glad that the company finally came up with this. I don't like using the regular mushroom soup because it is high in the sodium content and my husband cannot eat much salt without it causing a flare up in his Menieres. So making some of the cassoroles that called for muchoom soup was often lacking as I had to improvise. This is a welcome addition now in my pantry and I've been able to make the cassaroles that he likes. However if you are used to the salt taste, this is bland so you will either have to do with out the soup where it is called for or have each person add salt to their taste in the food portion
So glad I found this soup.

I was put on a low sodium diet several years ago. You have no idea how hard it is to find a full day's worth of food that falls within my limits. This soup fills my craving for a cream soup but is so low in sodium that I don't have to worry. Just check labels and you'll see what I mean.
I received a product with 650mg of SODIUM per serving!!! (over 1000mg per can!!)

The product I received was in a different can than the one pictured which said "25% less sodium" instead of the "low sodium soup" can featured on this page, and the sodium content of the product I received was a whopping 650mg!! PER SERVING! Each can is 2.5 servings. That's well over 1,000mg of sodium per can. The bizarre thing is, this product was supposed to have, depending on the pictures supplied, either 45mg or 60mg of sodium.
Nasty. nasty. Nasty. Even for someone on a low sodium/heart healthy diet.

Have been on a no salt/low sodium diet for 9 years. Usually I make all of our soups from scratch to avoid all the sodium. Was excited to see my childhood favorite offered as low sodium. Ordered a case. First can out of the box I took to work. Waited all morning. YUCK! No amount of pepper, cayenne or Also Salt can save this nasty soup. It was so gross. In fact, Campbell's should use the Also Salt product like Heinz Ketchup. What a waste of money. I'll stick to Healthy Choice Organic No Salt Added soups or make my own.
A Good Option for Low Salt Diets

If you are like me and need to watch the salt content in your food, you may realize how hard it is to find low salt soups. This is the only cream based low salt soup I've ever found commercially. It is really bland (low salt) and one can only serves one person. Do not add water or milk to this soup as it is already rather runny, just pour in a dish and heat in the micro wave. However, you will want to add either (no salt) spices or other ingredients to the soup, as it is really bland. I have experimented and had some good combinations with some paprika and garlic, however it's good to have a low salt soup, as there is really no way to take the salt out of soup, once it is added.
