Granny's favorite hard candy! I bought her a several packs when I bought her the "Flinstone's chewables with IRON" her doctor said she needed to start using for her anemia. I knew that the vitamins were going to taste bad, so I told her to pop one of these in her mouth as a treat when she finished the vitamin. She is almost 95 and has mild dementia. Since she lives in another state and I am hundreds of miles away from her, I rely heavily on Amazon to get her things to make her life just a little better/easier.

A week later, she asked me if I had ever used Flintstone vitamins because she wanted to warn me that they taste awful. She thought the nurse that comes by to take set up her medicines and that takes her to take her to Dr. appointments had bought them. I reminded her that I was the one who sent them at that I also sent Werther's to use as a "chaser" because I didn't think she was going to like the taste of the vitamin. She had forgotten I had told her that. So she says, "Well it's a good thing I have several bags of those hidden away. I don't know where they came from, but I just love that candy. Some days I eat 4 or 5 of them. I don't put them out in the candy dish 'cause I don't want anyone else eating them up." I told her that keeping them hidden was fine as long as she could remember where she hid them. :-) For some reason, the thought that she could forget where she hides them was hysterical to her.

Product is good and all Werthers. Unfortunatelt, I have ordered two of these packages for my wife and a large portion of the candies are broken or as she calls them rock candies now. I am not sure where the breaking is occuring, but picking up these packs in local stores does not seem to have this broken issues.

Definately would review higher if they were not so broken all the time, but otherwise these are good candies.

The candy is wonderful for the price as compared to what you'd pay in the store. The issue was the order: I chose the 2-bag order, purchased a total of 6 bags and sent these to my 93 year old aunt who LOVES the hard candy. I did this in 2015, 2016 and 2017. In 2015, exactly HALF the bags were hard candy and the OTHER HALF were the caramel chewy. My aunt was grateful, but noted that she PREFERRED the hard candy and not the caramel chewy. I assumed the 2015 order was an oversight, so I tried again in 2016 and that time the ORDER WAS CORRECT with all six bags being the hard candy. In 2017 I ordered the same 6 bags and sent to my aunt and similarly to 2015, half the bags were the caramel chewy which SHE DOESN'T LIKE. Very frustrating!!

BEST price anywhere for these 2 HUGE bags of yummy hard candies --we've investigated, trust me. An xray tech said many patients cough while lying down for an mri. Said cough drops (pricey) do the same thing as these candies, as throat lozenges merely generate saliva to coat the throat. It's the coating that increases saliva production, hence less coughing. More than one needs to know, but aren't you glad you're better informed now? Regardless, these are A FANTASTIC buy!

I received (2) 2 lb. 4 oz. bags...this is quite a bit of my very favorite. LOVE THEM. Look for this great offer since most of the time the price would be for 1. Free bag and good price anyway. If you love this smooth flavorful candy BUY IT at AMAZON...UPDATED...will keep purchasing since they are a favorite....the favorite probably UPDATED....same review....duplicate orders...will continue
