Perfect water storage

These are amazing water barrels! The quality of the plastic is good, the caps are sturdy. They hold 55 gallons of water, which weigh about 470 each once full...I was able to fit 4 of these, filled, on a standard 2000 lb capacity pallet in my garage perfectly. You will need a bung wrench to open these barrels, which can also be found in Amazon or in the emergency essentials barrel kit (it is not included with just the barrel)
They do have a bit of an off smell when you first open them, but if you follow the simple cleaning instructions that are included in the box, the smell goes away. (Cleaning= rinsing the barrel out, adding a bit of bleach, rolling it around, re rinsing, and allowing it to dry before filling. Simple.)
The cost of these barrels is comparable to slightly less with the free shipping. I truly recommend this great product!

I wrote a review previously liking this barrel but not able to open one of the caps. I found a wrench that's made to open the caps at a Sportsman's shop for $5.00. Their barrel was also $20 cheaper. I'm still happy with this thing so far.

I use it for storing DI water for my marine fishtank. Definitely a must have for a backup water source. Eventually I will have a second one so I can run them in series. The knock out for the bung cap wasn't very easy to knock out though. I ended up drilling it out.
