Nozzle end too short to tighten securely

The 3/4" nozzle end is too short to tighten securely with one rubber washer. I had to add a second washer to fill the void and allow the nozzle to tighten securely and not leak. This seems like a minor issue, but it looks like the manufacturer cut corners in minimizing the amount of metal needed to produce it. Makes me wonder how it will hold up in the long term as the composition of metals used was likely 'cheapened' as well.
