It works fine, but the fragile part is the key ring loop

1st one broke at key holder ring, so I bought another then just used the case (and new battery), was easier to swap the cases (and battery) than reprogram the alarm system to delete the old and add in this new one.

Works well. Therefore, it receives 3 stars. But I had to remove 2 stars because there is no manual or instructions on how to setup the FOB to your security system. So I had to search the internet on instructions to do that. Luckily, I found some. But if somebody else had a different system maybe they couldn't. I understand that there are many different security systems out there. Therefore, it would be difficult to put a lot of instructions in the box. Why not at least have a link to a website (setup by the company or youtube videos) where you could find instructions on setting up this FOB for at least the top 10 most popular systems?

If this key fob is compatible with your current alarm system, BUY IT NOW. My handicapped father likes to put the alarm on during the day, as he fears home invasions, he doesn't have to leave his room, or recliner in order to arm, or disarm our security system. We love it.The required battery is available at K-mart, Walgreen's, and other stores, not hard to find batteries that should last a while.

This fob is 1/3 rd the sized of my old fob, yet the buttons are bigger and easier to find in the dark. The install was very simple to my Simon (GE) 3 was quick and painless, also this fob is IP55 rated witch might survive a swim in the washing machine witch my old fob was not (hint on how my old fob meet its end). Very nice improvement over the old fob.

Don't buy your replacement key fob remotes from the alarm companies unless you have money to burn. These are exact OEM replacements for about 1/3 the price. They are easy to program too. After receiving you new key fob remote, call your alarm company tech support and they will walk you through programming it. Viola! you have a new remote for way less money and you didn't have to make an appointment and wait for a technician to show up. Win-win
