Condition my worn finished strat maple board. Wood soaked up the oil but works good. Did not take off the dirty fret board look.
I was very surprised how well this works. Great stuff!

Update! (Original review after this update)
I found its been within a week, one year since I originally bought this.

I just bought a new toy, that will be an inheritance for one of my granddaughters. See pic, it's a Hello Kitty electric guitar.

I bought it online, and after unpacking, this guitar smelled like cigarettes and cat urine. I carefully inspected, but nothing appears to have been direct contact. I tried some wipes and mild detergent, it still stank. I had to wash my hands 3X to get the smell off.

I took off the strings, then used 0000 steel wool, followed by the F-One Oil. After one application, no more urine smell. Just for good measure, the next day I applied another coat, let sit 15 minutes, and removed any excess with a lint free cloth. Again. This stuff is your fingerboards best friend! Now, please read my original post, still true a year later below:

First, I've been playing guitars for years, many years. I have heard about every trick to clean, polish, and setup guitars. I am one that if something works, don't fix it.

Most guys like me grew up using linseed oil to polish their necks. Recently, I dug out a few old guitars I haven't used for a long time, and they needed some TLC. I removed the strings and decided to apply some linseed oil. I couldn't find it anywhere.

Came on here to Amazon, and did a search and found quite a few different projects. I was just about to order some lemon oil, because I thought that would smell better than linseed oil, but did some searching online other than reviews, and found a few lutihiers that tell you to stay away from lemon oil.

What I did find, was this F-One Oil and Cleaner. First few reviews sounded just what I was looking for. Then I hit a couple 1 star reviews. Mostly, they didn't like the smell. One guy said it works great, but didn't like the smell.

Well, the bars and clubs I play in, I can't smell much but Axe body spray, cheap Wal-Mart perfume, and booze. I figure, this would work for me, as long as it cleans and lubricates the fingerboards.

It came yesterday, and I used it, and I am extremely happy with the results. I posted a picture of a 30+ year old Tele, and the fretboard is like new.

Now, the smell.... I read where a couple people said it smells like fish. No fishy smell. There is a slight citrus aroma. I actually like it, and it's better than linseed oil.

It's not a very big bottle, but a drop goes a long way. If you're on the edge about whether to buy or not, All I can say is, if you want to do right by your favorite axe, go with this. For me, it's good stuff. I highly recommend!
Good stuff

Darkens as well as treats. Do like it better than Dunlop
Works well, does eventually “expire”

This oil rejuvenated several truly filthy fretboards on auction-sourced guitars, it's great. Being based on natural oils, it will eventually expire and start to develop an off-smell, just like vegetable oil in the kitchen. For my first bottle that happened after about 4 years. When that happens, toss it and get a new bottle!
MusicNomad Rocks!

I'm very impressed with the MusicNomad line of products I've sampled. The quality and results have been excellent.
"¢ The MN100 detailer worked great on both my gloss and satin finishes! Cleaned and brought back that fresh & clean feel and look. And that's all I needed on my satin finish.
"¢ The MN103 polish for gloss finishes really brought back the luster and shine to a well-used (abused) 44 year-old instrument.
"¢ The MN105 F-ONE Fretboard Oil Cleaner & Conditioner worked miracles on the dirty & dry fretboards and bridges.
"¢ The MN201 Microfiber Suede Polishing Cloth applied the MN100 & 105 flawlessly. 2 to a pack, so keep them dedicated to a single flavor of polish/cleaner, but the quality of these cloths is amazing.
