Poor gem shape of countries along with locations

What an embarrassment: Sent this to my daughter as a gift and she will need to return it. Unlike gemstone globes made years ago (in the US?), this globe is junk. The globe is lightweight, the stand wobbles and the globe itself is a joke-----names of countries are spelled wrong, in the wrong places, and it is not even close to being geographically accurate. Don't waste your $300 on such a shoddy item.

These are nice globes in that they are the older style with the oceans actually made of stone instead of that stuff that looks like caulking with chunks of dried of caulking mixed in, not a good look. They say it looks more like current of the ocean but i believe it just looks cheap. This style even with the stones for the ocean is a much lighter globe than the real older style, they were heavy. But i guess it save the company on shipping cost. The reason for the three stars is that because these are older style they have been handled a lot and the one i received had rub marks from the packaging, the plastic bag did not cover the globe or stand, and so the globe rubs on the Styrofoam and got scratches on it. One thing to not is that i don't think they make this style any more, so these are limited quantity and the blue lapis stones for the oceans is really expensive now.

I bought this as a gift for my husband and it is beautiful. The only thing i can say is that the accuracy isn't perfect, all the countries aren't specified on it, but as a decoration piece it is absolutely gorgeous.
