Works until you actually try to use the filter. Very underpowered.
Amazon JunkieAugust 19, 2016
Very frustrated with this, but I suppose I should have lowered my expectations given the price. It works pretty well until you put the filter in, which, unfortunately, is the whole point. Out of desperation I've even tried hanging it horizontally from the ceiling directly over my soldering, and I've seen the smoke actually divert around the fan on the way up. I've now built a crude hood to force the fumes into the fan, but if there was sufficient airflow that shouldn't really be necessary. I think I might have been better off sticking a filter on a vornado.
Two Stars

used it for a jewelery business no good
Prefer the adjustable leg one. But this one works ...

Prefer the adjustable leg one. But this one works for soldering on table, need to hold the fan very close.
I would not recommend this product

Does not seem to extract or move any air or fumes at all. Turn it on, it makes noise, but lit a match directly in front of it, and the smoke went nowhere, so I'm certain the fumes from soldering are also going nowhere. It simply doesn't have the power to pull air in. I would not recommend this product.
Does the job!

The fan and filter keep the air clean while I'm soldering - works as well as a super expensive hood. Two thumbs up from this silversmith.
