You need this to get the best possible sound before it hits your audio interface. Get the tone, clarity and volume you need upfront so you can worry about Minor polishes after you've recorded the track. Worth the investment!

Very clean sound from this budget beast! I get a little bit of interference from radio signals, but I'm fairly certain that is my cord as I can "insulate" it with my hands and clear the signal out, will just have to invest in a better insulated cord. The compression features are pretty standard, but do their job well. The EQ is basic but provides immediately better recordings and saves time on mixing and mastering. All around I am ecstatic about having this piece of hardware in my studio.

The product had insignificant affects on my microphone . Worked with it about a week. minimal compression, negligible EQ .
Nice looking piece of equipment, but useless for the money. Lost some respect for the ART brand after this .
