As a woman living in a ground floor apartment, I didn't want people outside seeing clearly into my bedroom during the day hours when the thick blinds aren't closed like they are at night. I got a pair of sheer curtains, but my bedroom window is quite wide, so I needed a curtain rod that's both long enough and sturdy enough to hold them. They don't weigh much at all, but the rod needed to be sturdy because I push them open for awhile each day, so my houseplants can get more sun, and I pull them closed daily as well. I didn't want the rod to come crashing down during that, and it hasn't budged since I put the rod in the window! It's great: doesn't slip or slide from ever. from where I placed it in my window, with the sheers on it, and it's not flimsy. It's strong, sturdy, and REALLY HELPED SOLVE MY PRIVACY ISSUE! Highly recommend. This Seller was very attentive, too. I would buy from them again!

Over the years, I've used these for select interior spaces. However, for our latest project, we're using these oval spring loaded rods to hang medium-weight outdoor thick privacy sheers to the inside trim edge of our screened deck outdoor living space. They work great and hold securely, without marring or having to drill screw holes into the painted woodwork. I did order up, so to speak, selecting the 48"x84" for a 56" space i order to gain extra strength by not having to extend it the entire length. In the past, I'd buy curtain rods that would sag from being fully extended, thus not as much strength in the middle. Stepping up a length solves that problem.

This rod fit perfect inside my 82inch window to hang up some sheers. It is of quality I would expect and I simply turned the open section of the rod where the spring is exposed and tightened to the backside and it worked great! Doesn't really sag in the middle either which I worried about since the window almost spans to the capacity of the rod length. Great value for the price, extremely pleased.
