At an average cost of $5 a jar, Baron's Kosher 100% Pure Ground Sesame Tahini really hits the price/value/quality trifecta. I've paid twice as much for nationally branded tahinis at major grocery stores and in specialty food shops, just to find the taste of those expensive products to be disappointing (and occasionally kind of...burnt? or...musty?) Baron's mixed well, was neither too runny nor too gloopy and tasted fresh and nutty. The product I received has an expiration date at least 18 months away, so don't worry: you can get the 4-pack and tuck a few into the pantry for later use.
Yummy.

I buy this every few months and I use it to make homemade hummus. I think that the flavor is much better than the other brands that I have tried, and I like that I can get it in a multi-pack.
The Great Connector!!

Back in the old days ( 70's) Sesame Tahini was a luxury food item that was only available at Essene in Philadelphia on 2nd Street. Anything sesame was spendy. The late 80's brought out a product made by Jovya that was good for the time but required lots of stirring because it would separate and and get very hard on the bottom and would get very bitter once the oil was taken off.
Well here we are in 2017 and Barron's Kosher 100% Tahini is not your grandad's tahini. My only problem is I have to limit my intake of this product to one tablespoon a day and it is really great drizzled on brown rice which I eat every morning. Tahnni is a great connector with brown rice, blueberries , sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts and cranberries and cherries. This also a very good source for good fat.

Excellent product @ a great economical cost. For those other clients that state that Tahini is "too liquid", I would suggest placing the jar in the refrigerator since, after 2 days, it will thicken which is how I like it. The longer it stays, the more it thickens up to a thick enough degree of my liking. If someone that has not refrigerated it long enough & even though there would be thickness on most of it but still there would be some liquid on the top then the three options are to place it in the freezer but one has to monitor it until it is thick enough for one's liking OR one can leave it in the refrigerator for longer OR just stir the liquid part to mix it with the rest. I generally purchase several jars @ a time so whenever I open one, I also place an unopened one in the refrigerator so it thickens while I am still using the open one so it would be thick enough by the time that I need to open it.
Great tasting product

Have used this tahini for about 5 years now. Order in bulk from Amazon. It stores well, I use it when I make homemade hummus - which is quite often. I've never had any issues. The quality of the tahini has always been consistent and the packaging is tight. The only thing you have to keep in mind is to stir it before using. the oils will separate out so you will have a thicker consistency at the bottom of the container. I just take a butter knife and mix it up in the container before pouring it into my blender. Generally I only have to mix it up the on the first use, after that it stays mixed. I store it in the fridge also. The trouble I've run into lately is that it taste so good that I will get a spoon and eat it straight, and while it is a good fat, I probably don't need spoonfuls of it : )
