Great for Travel

We have two kids and travel quite a bit, especially to family and friends houses. With our first I can't tell you how many times we were trying to darken different rooms or cover the pack n play, especially when we were sharing a room and wanting our baby to sleep as long and well as possible. I looked into other cheaper versions of this and even the more expensive tent options. This one seems to be the best option for us. It's very easy to attach, we have both a normal pack n play and a Guava Lotus travel system that has a slightly different shape. I will say that it droops a bit in the Guava Lotus since it's not a perfect rectangle. I like that it actually blocks out most of the light but keeps it more compact unlike the tent options. This works great for both our baby and our toddler. It's become so essential I wonder why we didn't buy it a long time ago. Definitely worth the money if you travel a lot.
Easy for travel

This is perfect for travel! It's a small bag to throw in with the rest of their stuff, and it works pretty well for not being totally blackout. I wanted something with airflow, and would lessen the light in a room. My child doesn't have blackout curtains in their room, so I knew this would be fine. It made naps and an early bedtime super easy! Highly recommend.
Very useful, some safety concerns

I was travelling with my 7-month-old for 3 weekends out of 4. The first two weekends, we set up the pack and play in a guest bedroom of a family home, put the baby down to bed as usual around 6-7pm, and quietly left the room until it was time for the adults to go to bed. However, the third trip involved 3 hotel rooms. There wasn't really anywhere for the adults to go after bedtime. Our baby is used to sleeping in his own dark, quiet bedroom, and we were concerned that we might interfere with his sleep.

I heard about the SnoozeShade from online parenting groups (Precious Little Sleep especially). I thought it might be worth a try. The first two nights I left the zippered top open with a monitor so that I could see how the little one was doing at night. But I could never find a good angle with the monitor, so I ended up zippering it the third night. Baby slept much better than he did on the first two nights! We also fit in one nap in the pack and play at my grandmother's house, and that was also a success thanks to the pack and play.

I am giving only 4/5 stars for two main reasons: camera angles and fit.

First, I have found that my baby only sleeps well in a pack and play if I use a 3rd party mattress over the hard padded bottom layer that the manufacturer otherwise offers. The mattress is sized to fit the pack and play exactly. However, this is technically unsafe since baby could suffocate in between the mattress and the side of the pack and play. Some babies have even gotten underneath the mattress and suffocated. It is rare, but it is one of those unsafe sleeping situations you are supposed to avoid. Now, SnoozeShade is NOT responsible for my mattress use. However, the SnoozeShade does make it more difficult to monitor baby's sleep environment, even if the top is left unzippered. I don't know how to solve this problem. I did try avoiding using a mattress in the pack and play by renting a safety-approved crib, but all my attempts at renting a crib fell through. My baby will not sleep on the hard floor of the pack and play without it. We do need to travel with the baby, and he does need to sleep somewhere. I feel that using the SnoozeShade increases the risk while baby is sleeping in the Pack and Play.

Two, our SnoozeShade did not fit our Pack and Play tightly. It might be because our version of the Pack and Play has rounded sides, like a bassinet. I think there should be added features to the SnoozeShade (like velcros at the corners) so that parents can tighten the SnoozeShade around the Pack and Play. We weren't affected by this, since my baby doesn't yet stand up and didn't try pulling on it, but I am afraid of what might happen if he did.

We had to share a room with our 6 month old.. this sleep pod made it sooo easy and he never woke up when we came back into the room at night. It was pretty pitch black in there when the lights were all off. He loved seeing our faces in the morning after unzipping the top to get him out. Must have for rook sharing on vacation!!
Best purchase for baby yet!

We've been using this every nap and bedtime since we bought it 7 months ago. We originally bought it for occasional use but when my son transitioned from sleeping in bassinet to a pack and play in our room we started using this shade everyday. It helps darken the room so we can can turn on lights while he's sleeping without waking him. It also helps for blackout naps during the day. So happy we purchased this"¦ I'm nervous to transition him to a regular bed one day and not being able to use this shade.
