I've been using Copic markers for nearly ten years, and this is my first set of Prisma's. I do like the vibrant colors, and thus far on my test sheets, they seem to handle the same way I'm used to.

My set of 72 did have a couple of issues, though, the most frustrating of which is one marker I received (Spring Green, PB25) seems to have suffered a manufacturing issue with the brush nib, which is deformed with a couple of millimeters of the ink well poking out. As the nibs are not replaceable, there isn't much I can do aside from buying a new marker to replace it, or try to see if I can use it "as is". The bullet nib on the same marker is fine, but I primarily use the brush ends.

One other marker I received (Light Tan, PB95) is almost dried out. This should be fairly easily fixable with the addition of some marker fluid.

I have one last niggle, that is not an issue with the markers themselves- the set comes with 3 identical black markers. This is my own fault for not paying closer attention to the colors listed as included, and I still would have purchased the set had I known. But in a set of what I thought would be 72 different colors, 3 black markers that will see very little use from me seems excessive.

Overall, my issues aren't worth returning the full set of 72 over, but it's frustrating that they are present in a brand new set of markers. I am just glad that I purchased this set for myself and it wasn't a gift for someone else.

**EDIT** 12/15/17- I contacted Prismacolor about the one defective marker and they immediately sent a replacement marker free of charge. So, great customer service from the manufacturer!

I realllly like working with these markers. Fun, in a word. They blend well, and the brush tip feels so smooth against the paper. It also gives you great line diversity options. I have used them on watercolor paper, bristol, Strathmore toned tan, and marker pad paper, all with satisfying results (the bristol bled just a little). The color selection is nice, and if you're looking to pick up a "cheaper" set to try, you could easily get away with this, and maybe a colorless blender or lighter single marker for flesh tones (this set is short on flesh tones). Nice colors for landscapes, animals, etc.
I knocked off one star for the cap design. I have literally bruised my hands trying to get the caps off of some of these. I also ordered the cool grey set, and do not have the same issue with those, so it might just be this case? Now when I work with them, I leave the caps on loosely when I know I'll be going back to a color, and only completely recap them when I'm done working for a while. I guess on a positive note, you don't have to worry about them drying out anytime soon.
I attached a few test images on different papers (note: there might be some Gelly Roll sparkles on them not from the markers, but the base coloring is done with the Prismacolors). Overall, I would recommend these markers. Just be prepared for a hand workout dealing with the caps. Hope this has been helpful!

I've never used another brand of markers to compare them to, besides the typical permanent marker. That said, these are awesome! I was never into using color before but these got me into it. They are pricey, but totally worth it. The only downside is that the the old style used to have a finer tip. I added a photo of one of my first color drawings. Note: I've been drawing for over 20 years, results may differ ðŸ˜

I really like these markers and originally thought that maybe they were overpriced. The saving grace was that it is Prismacolor so I was willing to shell out a few more bucks for the markers because the color pencils are excellent. I am glad that I did. The markers are as you would expect from the quality of Prisma. Very vibrant and the ink dries really fast.

Critiques:
- One of my only criticisms is the fact that it's super hard to get the tops off. I actually tried the first day I got them, couldn't get the top off and so I just didn't use them. After a while I figured out a small trick to make it easier but I can see why some of the reviewers are a bit annoyed. It is quite the battle.

- The other critique I have is the fact that they bleed through something serious. I am using these markers on ColorIt - Colorful Flowers: Adult Coloring Book with Relaxing Zentangle Flowers and Patterns and it bleeds right through the page and even a little on the next page if nothing is under it. What is the big deal? The pages on this coloring book is crazy thick stock. I have Tombow markers which are typically known to bleed through and they don't, for comparison.

Otherwise I think they're worth it. If using for regular adult coloring books please keep the bleed in mind. If the page is double sided you need to pick an image and forfeit the other and if not then place a ton of pieces of paper under the page you're working on to save the image behind. I do recommend these markers but please keep in mind the cons, they are not a deal breaker for me but could be for others.

I got these pens because I am a budding artist and wanted better quality markers than my basic off brand ones. When I opened the box I was very happy to see I got 48 different colors with no repeats and two really nice prismacolor cases.
These pens are very sooth with little to no streaking and are true to color. A great set for an artist wanting a good quality pen without paying the high cost of some other brands out there.
