We've been family testing a few items to see what can be used both for daily and emergency preps - while the price of this is obviously 3x what "real" eggs cost we found with any addition at all (pepper, bacon bits or canned salsa for example) we can happily eat these for scrambled eggs on a daily basis, plus use them for baking. I'd suggest thinking of 3 eggs for one adult serving unless you have a decent side dish (biscuits, potatoes,meat, fruit?) to go with it - otherwise the serving size just feels too small. MEASURE carefully since if you get the ratio of water to egg wrong they are awful. The 12 egg pack is smaller than two side-by-side cell phones so a handy size and weight. Store with a ziplock since they do not reseal well. Also a can of spam (don't laugh) - thinly sliced and cooked in skillet it tastes like bacon (sortof) and goes well as a side dish with these. Hungry folk gobble them up! (On a total side note - if you like these for emergencies, check out NIDO for a milk substitute (can be found in the hispanic section of large grocery WM stores or on Amazon) for baking or drinking.

These are good, but I feel that you need to use more powder than specified in order to get really creamy scrambled egg-like eggs. But if you use like 25% more powder than specified, and create a thick slurry instead of the watery thin one specified in the instructions, you can get some very creamy scrambled eggs with good body. The taste is good either way. The packaging is a little inconvenient; once you open the package, it is not resealable so you have to put it into a ziplock bag to keep the remainder fresh. It would be nice to be able to mix in the bag but if you add the specified amount of water to hydrate the entire bag, it becomes very difficult to mix it effectively because of the bag shape, size, and material, so you end up with lots of 'clots' of unmixed powder. If you mix vigorously outside of the bag then you can get good mixing and good results. The 'paste' that results is sticky and tends to get all over everything and is not the easiest to clean, but in the end, there is no way to have eggs this good from a dry product otherwise so these small deficiencies can be easily overlooked.

So I'm not being paid any commission for this review. And this isn't my first purchase of OvaEasy eggs. I came back to buy more because these are without a doubt the best dried eggs we've ever taking camping -- and I've been camping and eating dried eggs for about 55 years now. These are not just "a little better" than the competition. These eggs taste like eggs, and in fact they taste better than some fresh eggs you'd buy in the supermarket. Really. They are easy to measure and easy to mix. They do not contain all the extra fat and salt that some of the competition includes, so the calorie profile is a little different, and you'll have to adjust how many "servings" you take accordingly. Plus, you may have to take just a little more because you'll actually want to eat them. My partner always took way less than half of what I'd cook, pushing a bunch of hers onto my plate. Not so with OvaEasy! Now I have to fight for my share. Seriously. You'll start thinking up ways to use eggs at dinner on camping trips, not just breakfast. So forget about taking anything else. So give away those big packages of Backpackers Pantry Eggs that you've stockpiled. Yes, these do even beat Alpinaire eggs. Give those away too.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME. Bought this product for a cyclo-camping trip. I cooked some up at the house before our trip and fed it to my husband.....who without prompting or questioning....told me the scrambled eggs were real good that morning. When I told him that it was the OvaEasy, he could not believe it. We are a trucking couple, and we will be carrying this product in our truck now, as opposed to regular eggs. Mixes with water super easy with no lumps. We added dehydrated mushroom, green peppers, onion, and cheese to the powder and made camp food breakfasts on our trip. Cooks up just like regular scrambled eggs and truly tastes like the real thing. My husband thinks they taste better than real eggs. If you are on the fence about which powdered egg product to order, you should just buy these. You will be pleased with the product.

After looking for a good breakfast to eat on the trail, I thought I would give dehydrated eggs a shot. My first attempt did not go so well as I bought another brand. The eggs were terrible and I thought there was no hope. After watching a few videos of some backpackers, I noticed a few preparing Ovaeasy. I though, what the heck, I will just give it a shot. Man, I was shocked how good these were compared to the other brand I got. It was night and day. These were buttery and tasted exactly the same as fresh scrambled eggs. I cooked them up in a skillet with some olive oil and they were great. I will buying many packages to come!
