I've played the violin since for 15 years, so I like to think I know what I'm getting myself into with this purchase. I was not expecting a top of the line instrument, but something to play around with and learn on. The Instrument itself seems fairly well constructed for the price. It does seem to have a problem holding its tune, but I've only had it for a day so expecting to see that improve with time. But do yourself a favor... the second you receive it, throw out the strings that are currently on it, as they will snap the second you begin tuning. Then take the replacement strings and throw them out as well, they seem to be garbage. The bow I received is extremely warped, but even if it was not, it seems pretty cheap. You can get decent strings and a bow for fairly cheap, I advise you do that. Otherwise, good luck! Attached a picture of instrument w/ warped bow.

Just got for Christmas and opened just a few moments ago.
Extremely poor quality. Arrived scuffed up. Looks used.
There are scuffs marks and chips in the finish in various places. The finish on the neck is completely rubbed of and has a different feel compared to the rest of the instrument. There was a lot of dripped glue you can see through the F-holes.
The strings are extremely poor quality. They looked uses/frayed. The sound post left dislodged inside the cello with banged around while shipping. I didn't not open the bow or stand. I am planning to return so no need to open the accessories. The pegs do not feel like they are secure and would hold in the holes there are drilled for them.

Poor finish and poorly made

The cello arrived with no color finish on the neck, only clear coat. When questioned about this, the customer service rep at KK Music store (the manufacturer) told me that they don't put color coat on the neck because over time hand oils and sweat cause the finish to become "gummy". Really? I have been a guitar player for decades and the necks of my guitars have always been finished and have never become "gummy". I can only assume that they use some cheap, inferior finish in order for that to happen. Also, the bridge and string system seems to be flimsy and difficult to keep in tune. While I understand that this is an inexpensive beginners cello, it should look good and not be a frustration to play. This one looks used because of the lack of finish and is frustrating.
