Disappointed by limited use.

These are single use only - no way to turn on and off without risk of losing parts. The effect is nice but are pretty much "party lights". Package was extremely difficult to open. Took several minutes to manage. I was looking for on/off Christmas lights so these were not the answer.
We threw them into the sand and it created an amazing starry night effect

We purchased these for our wedding. These little balls are magical. We threw them into the sand and it created an amazing starry night effect. I recommend these but make sure to buy them in bulk (we had 40 in total). You're going to get a handful of duds (with 40) so factor that in.They last 4-6 days unless you can figure out how to save the battery (see other reviews).
Make them solar!!!

The balls and lights are gorgeous truly but I should of listened to other reviewers. Yes I can replace the batteries (although when solar comes out unless it's a party would be the better way to go for a more than one time thing), but I gave it one star because In the instructions it says to stay waterproof you need the "O ring" to keep the two pieces basically seals tight. Well, none of my fairy berries ( that came packaged and everything right out of the store) had them. So I left them in the rain and while obviously the batteries are dying from overnight usage the balls seem fine. Nine the less the fact that they are fine but not as described is worrisome. I will be watching closely in hopes of solar berries coming out this year.
Sprinkle some fairy dust light balls at your next party!

I brought these out at my wedding, and they were a huge hit! We were married at a large open estate along the west shore of Oahu, and these lights added to the post sunset magic of the night.
Contrary to another review's claims, they DO have an O ring; it's thin, and it's clear, but it's there. It's easy to lose it in assembling the two halves after pulling the tab from between contacts and batteries. They are waterproof and they do float. I would encourage you to prep these beforehand; doing a couple of dozen is time consuming. The batteries last quite a long time, several days in fact. So open them up, pull the tabs, be sure the O ring is in place and seal them up again well in advance of your event so you're not hurrying

Good for Halloween Front Yard Haunt
Arunas Buraitis✓ Verified Purchase•November 20, 2013
These things are cute! But they were a bit creepy and mysterious laying in the grass under the low lying fog in my Haunted Halloween front yard, fading on and off amongst the scattered bones and tombstones. Great stuff. To turn them off you need to open them and pull a battery out, or slip the little tag, or something similar back in. I left one going and hung it from a tree over the front sidewalk. It was three days before someone pulled it down, but then placed it on top the weeping atlas cedar. The intensity faded, but it kept glowing on and off for a week. For Christmas I may get some white ones to go with these red ones.
