Perfect for perishables when flying
H Cris•September 2, 2017
I packed a few frozen cartons of dairy in this box for my sister flying down to Hawaii, and she loved it! She tells me that she didn't have any trouble checking this in at the ticket counter. I would get this again.

I used this to ship human body fluid and prevent it from getting cold. Worked well, fluid received cold.

Works great for shipping frozen breastmilk, I fit around 250oz and used techni ice sheets and it works great
Great for milk! Kept milk cool for 18hrs!

Kept milk (not frozen) cold from Portland to Maui with a long layover and long ride to our hotel after going grocery shopping! It ended up taking us 16hrs. (I just calculated it in my head and I can't believe it took so long).
Tips for flying with milk:
I flew with 125oz
I filled about 25 bags with 5oz.
The breast milk bags do not fill as many oz as they say so fill more than you'd think or get more bags than you think you need.
I layered milk bags with gel packs (used about 25 gel packs) and then put newspaper on top.
The box with all of this weighed about 35lbs.
I did not freeze the milk (worried about lose of nutrients). Milk was cold when we got to our hotel!

The Polar Tech 245C box came quickly, both the box and styrofoam liner was as described. The only negative is that the corrugated cardboard used as the shipping box is a little thin. Remedied this by merely taping the box heavily closed.
I will definitely use it again. The perishable items I shipped to another state was received in perfect condition & the frozen gel packs were still frozen. Regardless of the fact that the thinner cardboard worried me it remained in intact through the shipping process.
