4-1/2 Years Later

I'm in a gigging band and have been using this to hold a iPad Pro to play iTunes, and control the mixer. We're moving into a new studio this week and wanted a second one thinking it would be easy to find, but the only way it showed up was searching my order history and was shocked that it's been getting hauled around for 4-1/2 years now. Has worked perfectly for me. I'm tall (6'6") and it gets moved up and down the stand regularly (2-4 times a month) and stays on the stand during transport with the cup holder attachment on the other side and hasn't given me any trouble. 2 of my band mates have different mounts that they wrestle with constantly. I was surprised to see as many negative comments as there are here. I'm planning on picking up a second one.
Good, but needs minor modification to work well.

I agree with most of the other reviews. The part that clamps the tablet works fine for me, although the range of tilt is fairly limited. It tilts only about 15-20 degrees back from vertical, so you can't stand over this and expect to read it. As long as your mic boom lets you stand back about 2 feet, it's ok. The clamp that attaches to the mic stand however is poorly designed. The disk with the v groove should spin freely on the bolt, but due to an over sized cotter pin, it hangs up and just turns around as you turn the bolt knob. I replaced the larger cotter pin with a smaller one, and bent the legs tight around the screw and now the disk turns freely and the clamp works well. Once I made that fix, I've been happy with it.
Perfect for my iPad

It holds my iPad on the mic stand perfectly. Just what I needed.

I have little faith before I received the product, because all reviews are about the iPad. See, I have a Toshiba Thrive 10.1". This product comes with 2 sets of 4 clips that slip into the edge of the holders, 4 long and 4 short. You can have different combination of both long, short or long+short. That just fit my Toshiba Thrive 10.1".
I give it a 5 in terms of setup, but 4.0 when I tried to mount it on my boom mic stand. It is a deception when appears in picture that it can be mounted on a boom, however if you are using the mic on the stand, your body is actually touching the tablet and looking down on the tablet. If I tilt the boom down and put the stand further(just like using a music stand) then the mount would not allow me to view the tablet, the 360 degree swivel ball hinge only allows the rotation while you are facing the tablet, but the tilt has only about 45 degrees. My alternative is to put the mic stand side-way and the boom pointing to the left or right(depending on stage setting), then I mount the tablet on the boom hanging. It is working so far but I am not very comfortable with it because the weight of the mic and mount(not light at all) causes the clip sometimes slips and I have to tighten it again and again.

Works great so far!

So, I have used it once so far. It came the day of our last practice and upon inspecting it I was a little hesitant on using it. Looks like it wouldn't hold my iPad 3 very well, but I used the longer clips and it sticks in there pretty good. This thing claims to use some sort of spring system to hold it tight, but I don't see that. Horizontal works great and I am not worried about anything falling. There doesn't appear to be anything for vertical, so I won't even chance it. I've got to get a bit more use out of it, but these are my first thoughts on this. The instructions are terrible, if you can call them that, but fortunately it doesn't take much to figure out... and this thing appears to be useful in the car and other locations, as well, which, although untested, is a nice bonus!
