Almost Perfect--Sounds like an instrument, not a cheap toy

2 minor complaints: First, I wish they'd left off the bell on the top so I could set it down without putting pressure on the bells (I might remove it at some point). Second, I wish they'd made the end of the handle wide and flat so I could play it by holding it upside-down with one hand and tapping down with the palm of the other hand (I might modify this as well). No regrets, though--Good, full sound! Yes, you can get a quieter dynamic out of it. It just takes a gentle touch. Yes, the beads keep rolling for a while and make some sound even when you're not ringing it, but the sound between rings is not loud enough to be a problem.
Well-made, great sound, a little on the heavy side

You'll love the sound and quality of these sleigh bells, but be prepared for a workout. They're pretty heavy and a bit unwieldy for smaller hands. That said, I'm very well-pleased with the product. Everywhere I go now, I'm jingling all the way with a whole lot of shaking going on!
That Sleigh Ride Sound!

I had to purchase this for a perfomance of sleigh ride as well as a few other Christmas tunes for a community band group I play with. Having bought meinl cymbals in the past as well as other aux percussion from them, I felt confident they would do the job.
They have a nice tone and their weight was what I could expect from a professional instrument. I had to personally do a bit of mod to it making it hands free by drilling a hole in the base of the handle to thread it to a cymbal stand, thus making it hands free.
I felt the handle was durable enough to take on the drilling and screwing which it did without fail.
Overall I would recommend this brand of sleigh bells for any reason your music calls for.

The sound on this thing is great...

but it's heavy. Depending on the tempo of the music you are creating, it may be a bit heavy for faster tempo songs. It's 25 bells certainly provide a very full sound, and it's weight tells me it is well constructed, but I am ordering another one, with fewer bells for up-tempo songs.
Meinl Hand Sleigh Bells are very good

These orchestral sleigh bells could be easier to hold. The sound quality is generally good but slightly noisy. A good value for the cost.
