I purchased this to play with my grandchildren and found that I enjoyed playing more for myself! It doesn't have the rich, full sound of the French horn that I played in high school but then again it doesn't cost the thousands that the French horn cost. It takes a little practice to get the squeak out of the tone but I can really play some satisfying music! Glad that I purchased it!

Seems to work fine as a recorder. Hard to tell as all recorders are generally being played by grade schoolers and sound like a small pet is being murdered. One thing to note, the black one is not black, it's brown so if you really want black, as my child did, you may be a bit disappointed.
The one I got was not black.

I purchased this recorder to replace a school-issue that was lost. I wanted black so it would match the other students' but the one that came was ivory colored. As for sound, it is fine. It sounds...well...like a recorder. It came with a neck strap which is fun.

Came with a bag with drawstring, a cord that goes around the recorder and around your neck (so that you don't have to hold it or set it down and have it roll away in between playing), a note/how to play guide and a cleaning stick. My son's teacher told his class that the best was to wash was in the dishwasher. Sure enough I pulled the three peices apart and put it in the utensil basket and it came out fine.
