... mat because my cat’s original mesh litter mat was super hard to clean
June✓ Verified Purchase•November 2, 2017
I bought this mat because my cat's original mesh litter mat was super hard to clean. Even with hosing the mesh mat with water it always seemed like there was still litter stuck in the mat. So... this mat definitely solves that issue, it's so easy to clean the mat thoroughly with a mop and the turbo brush. Also the design of this mat looks much better than most commercial mesh mats. My cat loves lying on the mat too! The only downside of the mat is, it's a bit pricey and probably will not last long. I've had the mat for a month and it's already showing obvious signs of wear and tear simply from my cat walking on it (he doesn't use it to scratch since he only uses his scratching post for that and his nails are regularly trimmed). Not sure how long the mat will last. Also, this litter mat seems to use a material that absorbs liquid (I've noticed this after washing it). So if your cat has a habit of peeing outside the litter box this might be something to consider.
Great Mat

I have purchased these several times. They work great for my needs. They provide a nice coverage area that catches litter as best litter can be caught (believe me I have tried others that do not compare) . This can be easily emptied of litter scatter by picking it up and emptying back into the litter box. Cleans nicely with antibacterial cleaning wipes for spot cleaning. I have even submerged and washed in a utility sink using soap and water and allowed to air dry. Holds up to this method very well but needs a few days of drying time on a rack to completely dry out. I would purchase again.
Perfect!

All I have to say is this is my ride or die may for my messy kitty. This helps so much for an easy clean up and really does help keeping litter contained. Easy to just pick up and dump back into the box and can vacuum it right off as well. Also is the best looking one I've saw. You won't be disappointed!!! And your cat will be happy!
Pretty nice litter mat that my cats prefer to destroy, also admittedly in awkward location. Destroyed and uncleanable in 1 year.

It was pretty when I got it and it does help, and does look nicer that most litter mats. Alas my cats think all rugs are for claw maintenance and decorative rearrangement, so it was turned into rubber shreds pretty quickly, which actually does not enhance its trapping abilities, and gets pulled away from the box frequently. But I will also admit the the box is in a corner with furniture on either side so there is an odd spaced space directly in front of it that cannot be helped by a trap mat. This just gets tucked into that right angle after they exit with bare space in front and it is helpful in taking some litter so I can pick it up and funnel it back to the box in a quick move. It would clearly do better if your cats aren't in to rug destruction and/or you could place the box (or at least the front of the box, where applicable) over the rug.
UPDATE (1/19/17): Someone apparently missed the box and peed on the rug, which seemed to help absorb it OK yet remained wet through and through. By this point the rug was torn up all over with unattractive holes, no perceivable pattern remaining, and surface is almost useless and impossible to clean now. It was pretty and nice for under a year. I liked the sage color as it coincidentally matched some furniture in the space, but it can only really be considered temporary, at least if your cats like to scratch at rugs. I threw it out. It didn't do good enough job at litter control even when new to buy a new one that would be in shreds in another year.

I have four cats; two of them are on prednisolone (steroids, which increase urine output) for medical conditions and one of those also seems to have trouble hitting the inside of the box. I was deathly afraid she'd start peeing on the carpet. I was also tired of walking around on bits of litter that the cats had kicked out on the carpet. I got this mat to put under what seems to be the most popular litter box.
I like that this is quite large; it fits under the box with at least several inches showing all around (more in the front because I've pushed the litter box back against the wall). It's also thick so it should last a long time. The plastic texture is easy to clean (I wash it in the bathtub; I have one of those detachable showerheads so I can spray over the surface from up close). And the neutral color should work with most decors.
I didn't notice a plastic smell when I opened this, which is nice. Oddly, one of my cats really likes to hang out on the mat. Maybe it's just the novelty of the thing?
Anyway, recommended as part of a general strategy to protect the floor around your litter box.
