Solid built, great size, great performance!

I was worried that this would be too large and make it difficult to fit into my crawl space for mold mitigation. However, it is much more compact than I imagined. Great solid build. Amazing product for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend.
Works excellent as a work and shop vac
Tony✓ Verified Purchase•December 31, 2023
I like to work in a clean environment and this vac helps me to keep things clean and healthy. Theres nothing worse than vacuuming dirt and having it blast out of the exhaust port.
I use this as my shop vac and work vac due to the hepa air filtration. Healthy air during sanding and vacuuming processes is easier to achieve with this vacmaster vacuum. Like everything else, there is a price to be paid for clean air. As we know, hepa filtration is not cheap. In this case, there are four separate filters that might potentially need to be changed and none are exactly cheap. I will say that they are affordable considering the level of filtration one is able to achieve.
And as others have asked, you will not achieve 100 percent bag capacity due to the design of this vacuuming system (refer to attached photos). The bag wraps around the jumbo sized hepa filer. The hepa filter is also wrapped by a pre filter which further reduces the bag capacity. However, it fills the high efficiency bag nicely, just not to 100 percent capacity. I also have festool dust extractors and those fill up the dust bags to almost 100 capacity, but those are designed to be used to capacity.
I gladly accept the limitations of the vacmaster but in turn, even simple to hazardous vacuuming procedures are much safer with hepa filtered air.
I've had this device since 2018 and it's been used heavily around my home and various job sites with ZERO issues.
I've replaced all the various filters at some point depending on whats been vacuumed. At last check, the high efficiency bags are $17.99 for three bags. Again, hepa filtration is not cheap. We recently had our ceramic tile floors removed and the contractor used typical methods to grind the old mortar and a shop vac to "vacuum" the dust. Even with plastic sheeting being erected, there was dust on everything. I say all to day that it's worth the extra cost to have such a device as this vacmaster to address certain dusty environments. What this device does is makes vacuuming safer and nearly dust free. Trust me on this, using a shop vac without hepa filtration will have dust and particles lingering in the air. Using a vacmaster device can nearly eliminate that issue. As such, I rate this device a solid five stars with it's excellent hepa filtration and modest price tag.

Excellent home residential HEPA grade Wet Vac with 2 minor annoyances
Bern✓ Verified Purchase•December 14, 2023
I purchased this Vac to use while doing minor demo work in my old basement and wanted something with a better filtration system to minimize dust, etc.
Overall I have been extremely pleased with this unit. The cord is longer than my previous wet/dry vac which was a huge plus. Suction has been great and I can really tell a difference in the amount of dust with the HEPA filtration.
My only complaints are as follows: the attachments are a little fussy to deal with...as far as easy of connections, etc.
My other complaint is the unit is somewhat tall/narrow and the power cord attachment is at the very top which makes the unit easy to tip over while working.
Aside from these small things this is probably one of the better residential HEPA wet/dry vacs for the price.

Complex and tricky filter system

Arrived with a broken float filter cage but customer service was exceptional - I actually spoke to a human and she said I would have the replacement part in 3-5 days.
Graphics in the user manual are poor. They indicate you could just screw on the filter which I could not - possibly because the attachment point was broken. I'll have to await the replacement parts to determine.
The microfiber prefilter (part 7) uses a large screw clamp system to attach it around the HEPA Cartridge filter, requiring some time with a screwdriver to take it off or replace it. To go to wet vac operations, you must remove these filters, so it is going to take some time.
The manual does not address how to use either Power Tool Adapter (part 24) or the Metal Accessory Adapter (part 25). After seeing that the plastic vacuum accessories do not fit onto the steel wand - which is unusual for a vacuum cleaner - after some experimentation, I determined that you actually must use an adapter (which is provided) to allow the wand to fit to the crevice and dust brush tools (but not the floor nozzle). The user guide should at least show a picture of how to use the adapter and sentence that simply says the adapter must be used for two of the accessories. The average human will figure it our eventually even without instruction.
Summary: better care in packaging, a simpler filter attachment system, and clearer instructions with better images/pictures would be quite helpful. The vacuum cleaner does seem to work fine and is quite powerful.

True HEPA vac

Update. 6/9/20. I still use this vac constantly and it is functioning great. Ive sucked up dirt, paint chips, sharp nails, whatever EXCEPT water. I still refuse to use this as a wet vac because the multi layer filtering worries me mold/mildew wise if they get wet, would be hard to dry thoroughly. Suction is still good. Bags are easy to replace....and disclaimer I have yet to change the HEPA filter Ive only replaced the large bags.

Orig review:
This is a real HEPA vacuum. The reason it costs more then your standard wet/dry vac is because of the intense filtering layers and also because it needs to have certain criteria met with sealed compartments. From doing my shopping, this was also one of the lowest price points where you can find a true HEPA vacuum. I bought this mainly to help me clean up restoration projects and general home renovations. You never know what kind of bad things you stir up and it's nice to know I can now contain all of that with this beast and not spread it through the air with my regular vacuum.
The two tools I use most often are the pole w/ squeegee attachment (it can be used sort of as a floor vac) and the edged plastic nozzle. I've found that when you are drilling a hole into a wall, you can just place the nozzle underneath the drill bit and it will suck away almost all of the dust created from drilling. Afterwards, you can use the pole attachment and finish the cleanup.
Suction power is fierce and strong. The power level reminds me of those commercial vacuums outside self-service car wash stations. The noise level is not as bad though, but still very loud. These vac's are also expensive to operate because the filters are so expensive. To save money, you can keep replacing the pre-filters before you have to actually replace the costly hepa filter. There are several layers of filtering protection before you start damaging the HEPA filter. If you do choose to use this as a wet vac (I don't know why you would, buy a cheaper shopvac for that), it came an optional foam filter you can use so you don't damage the other fabric filters.
If I have one complaint, I don't like the quality of the yellow flexible hosing. The front hose attachment came loose quite easily, it doesn't seem to be glued or permanently attached. This is probably done so by design, but it was something unexpected. Otherwise, it seems like you get a great quality HEPA vac for the price. Also, vacmaster accessories seem prevalent and easy to purchase.
